9/24: Belmont Park ($31k C/O)

Beautiful afternoon at Belmont was enjoyed by a nice Dee Tee Stables turnout despite nothing going right for Ausable Chasm and our team in the featured Friendly Beauty. Scheduled pilot Rajiv Maragh took sick and off of his mounts mid-card, and that kind of set the tone for what transpired thereafter. Ausable Chasm was eager early under Julien Leparoux, got roughed up and stepped on from both sides, and faded at the top of the stretch in something of a mirror of her debut. Though cut up, the Hook and Ladder filly was otherwise OK and will regroup for a state bred allowance later in the fall. Thanks to everyone for their support and well wishes!

A $31k carryover is out there this afternoon at Elmont, and is very tricky...

Oh good... What a lucky break. Stumbled into a horse that could improve on the lawn!

And what a coincidence that very topic was discussed on the radio today!

Maybe his 2nd dam being by Dynaformer and a multiple graded stakes winner on turf, (as well being the dam of Canadian S. winner Diadella), has something to do with Forbidden Brew 'liking the saratoga grass'.

Well-earned $38k for those that negotiated the sextet... Thought I had a nice ticket going after the first half before it turned into soup sandwich.

Random thoughts...

Hard to take Skipadate being second in that 8th...

Pretty apparent that Orangeblackandgold will never win a meaningful MSW...

Racetrackers undoubtedly happy for the human Erma Lee, long time Mott family/barn assistant...
