Champion 3yr old

If you had to choose today for Champion 3yr old and your 3 choices were, Lookin at lucky, Eskenderyea and Paddy O Prado, who would you vote for? IMO Paddy will be Champion 3yr old colt

Lucky.

Paddy

admiral fleet alex express.

Depending on how the rest of his year pans out, I could see Paddy winning it. Lucky is the favorite right now, but how important is the Indiana Derby?? I can't see him winning the classic. If, and it's a big if Paddy wins the Hirsch and then runs respectable in the turf (which will probably be equally if not more difficult than Lucky winning the classic) I would say he would be a deserving 3YO champ.

I would cross-enter Paddy in the Classic and BC Turf in case it rains.

I voted for Eskendreya, but obviously LAL is the standout here.

I just wanted to know what it feels like to be a tard.

RockHardTen1985 09-23-2010 10:15 AM

Eskendereya is still the best that has run, but its Luckys to lose.
Eskendereya likely would crush Lucky. The career ending injury sucks.

blackthroatedwind 09-23-2010 10:37 AM

I voted for Zenyatta.

She is all things to all people.

Twirling Candy

If Paddy wins a BC race he certainly has a good case, but Lucky fits the profile of a conventional 3yo champion being the best on dirt. How many 3yo champs came from the weeds?

Thoroughbred Fan 09-23-2010 01:58 PM

Bigger question is when these two faced each other who finished ahead of whom?

There is your answer if it is close.

What BC race can he even be competitive in? If the Euro contingent is even decent, he will be hard pressed to make any impact.

They added a 3yo turf raced in North America only BC race.

Well in that case, I guess he would at least be the favorite as of now.

They split head to head, but LAL had no shot buried inside for the Derby. IMO, he proved to be a superior dirt horse in the Preakness.

I'm not even sure about that.

Perhaps one of the Candy horses would be.

Though I suppose if the race was like 12f, Paddy would be favored.

Not saying Paddy has much of a shot, but it's going to take a deep Euro contingent before I eliminate him from the turf. I think he'd have a good shot at running by Gio Ponti and Court Vision when they hang.

I don't think he'd have any shot in the Mile with the ones that are expected to arrive.
