Same Old Clowns

I was watching Cleveland-Tampa Bay in between plays of the Pats game.

Cleveland looked vastly superior but shot themselves in the foot over and over - and Delhomme remains a human turnover machine. Sad for that fine city.

Pats are now 18-0 at home in the regular season with Brady/Moss. I was upset that they got the jump on Cincy so easily. I don't think we learned enough about the defense from this game other than that they're not swiss cheese until they get a 4 TD lead to nurse in the 2nd half. I was happy when Cincy won the toss and took the ball...but the game was over about halfway through quarter one.

Pete off to a fine start in Seattle…

The Browns are back to expansion mode, but finally have people who know what they are doing at the top.Afraid this will take 3 years to be any semblence of fun.

But I didn't see the game.

All Delhomme needs to do to feel better is go watch a replay of the second half of his old team, that was brutal.

I thought this thread might have been about Randy Moss.

If my memory serves me correct he's said many times he's a Jets fan.

Back on topic... I seriously have no interest in this NFL season other than wagering purposes. My team is horrifically bad, my second favorite team traded their franchise down I-95 to a division opponent, and with all the stupid rules they keep adding the fun is gone. Sounds like a lot of people agree with me- my buddies in WNY have had season tickets for like 10-15 years and they all gave them up this year.

The funny thing is I know DrugS will take my post for what it was. Considering he and I have gone back and forth about Moss for years now, he knows I'm not talking sh.it. Just having fun with him.

What it is... A. Your talking **** or B. Your just corny. Randy Moss is the best receiver in the history in the NFL. He should get partial credit for every single TD pass other players on his teams have cought. THe amount of double and triple teams he has got since being a rookie is amazing. Some things can be argued, one right one wrong. Even I have come off the Ravens a bit tomorrow night. This is a slam dunk, he is the GOAT. Chris Carter got 2 maybe 3 more years because Randy Moss. He has said it. The attention he draws is insane, like Jordan... Makes EVERYONE ELSE BETTER.

On Welker's TD catch on the quick hitter - the Bengals actually tried to cover trips at the top of the screen (the two rookie tight ends and Welker) with two players - while Moss was doubled at the bottom of the screen.

Obviously, that had to be a blown assignment by somebody.

The big play that set up the first TD drive - Aaron Hernandez worked underneath Moss and another busted coverage left two DB's chasing after Moss and no one was within 20 yards of Hernandez.

The Bengals secondary was an absolute mess. Moss will get some big chances next week... the Jets are probably going to ask Reavis to cover him one on one with no safety help for much of the game.

Stay classy Randy.

When he came to the Patriots - Moss restructured his contract, erasing the final year and its $11.25 million payout and taking half of the $10 million (including a $250,000 Pro Bowl bonus) he could have made in 2007. He reduced his 2007 salary to $3 million ($500,000 bonus for being on the roster for the first game and a $2.5 million base salary), plus an additional $2 million in performance-based incentives.

In three years - he's performed well for them. A 16-0 regular season where he broke a slew of NFL records in year 1. An 11-5 season despite Tom Brady getting hurt in the first quarter of week 1 in year 2. An explosive offense with Matt Cassell. Year 3 he led the NFL in touchdown catches yet again despite playing through reported back injuries early in the season and with a seperated shoulder late in the season.

He's very bitter that his past financial gestures to the Patriots benefit - and his production for them since he got there isn't being rewarded.

But after week 1, Doug? Really?
That's not going to endear himself to many people. He should just keep his mouth shut and be the player he can be. If he does that there should be some sort of pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.
You just can't bitch and moan after the first week.

Are you even serious? This is not pop warner. Im a die hard Pats fan and if my man Randy sat out, I WOULD BE OK WITH IT. Pay the GOAT. Doug makes really good points about the contract. My uncles company holds seasson tickets, my uncle is a huge fan. I knew Moss re did his contract, but not as much as Doug points out. He sacrificed the $, now its time to pay him what he deserves. He still should be the highest payed receiver in the NFL. He opens up the field for everyone else, not to mention what he does for the running game.... He had some minor issues early on, but please tell me when this guy does not show up. He is above GOAT... We need a new word for him. He might not only be the best wideout ever, he might be the best most talented, explosive freakish ATHLETE EVER. Remember that Tom Cruise movie... He should be saying **** YOU PAY ME.

I don't doubt his talent Joseph. But then he should of held out or made his contract play before the seson. Once the season starts, it should be nothing about the team concept with the one goal of winning the Super Bowl, period.
This is nothing else but a selfish manuver drawing attention away from a team who could have some real playoff aspirations and could prove to be a distraction for the rest of the season.
