Erin Rose race 9 Monmouth

Maybe the most anticipated return of a 3yo maiden winner this year. She probably won't lose and will be 1/5 or lower. I'll blindly make two $5 exactas over the longest will pays and the same two under in the trifecta for $2.

Not today, both scratched due to sloppy/off the turf.

Only someone who saw her maiden win would remember her. She made a Secretariat like move to put away maidens. A few people on the selections thread Aug. 1st probably recall.

Anyway the field is scratched down to four horses so no value left in exotics except perhaps a bet against.

Looks like she ran 2nd.. Troubled trip?

No trouble at all, pressed pace and actually was blown away. Barley held second.

hockey2315 09-12-2010 05:43 PM

Maybe she didn't like the track.

Port Conway Lane 09-12-2010 06:19 PM

Probably ran the race of her life in her first start and will burn money from here on out.

The track condition certainly could have been a factor but there are several sibs successful on off tracks as well as her dam.

For a 3yo firster her first race was impressive visually as well as figure wise but she couldn't back it up.

Bet against until the price goes up as far as I'm concerned.

She looked to handle it just fine. The likely reasson is she simply is not that good.

iamthelurker 09-13-2010 03:59 AM

Pretty drastic turnaround there, didnt look anywhere near the same horse. Definitely a bet against next out, but will be interesting to see which Erin Rose shows up that day.

RockHardTen1985 10-24-2010 11:07 PM

She is running back, Wednesday at Belmont Race 8.

Looks like a good race. The horse that beat her chased the pacesetter in the Princeton and faded. 6 horses in the race have won half their starts so I expect her to be a fair price.
