Going all the way across the country to play Virginia Tech sort of disqualifies them for that distinction. They also won seven games last year by over 30 points.
If they played 90% of their games at home....and beat teams like new Mexico St. and San Jose St. by 3 points every time....maybe.

I can't wait until Alabama plays Boise St. in the BCS championship.
