In-Running betting

It probably won't arrive in the US for years - but I really would love to see it here.

It's basically just a betting exchange that stays open while the race is running - and you can continue to bet on or bet against horses during the race.

Here's an example of someone doing it on YouTube.

Besides pre-race straight wagers and in-race betting - I'd also like to see a betting exchange that handles exacta combonations and just keep the tote in place for multi race wagers, trifectas, and superfectas.

A lot of horse players are old and computer illiterate - but this is what the game needs to ultimately become or the sports decline will just be more and more all the time. You'd start to see an army of Mountain Dew guzzling 18-year-old males that racing has no chance with right now - betting 85 races a day.

Its fantastic and while I dont do it that much, there are tons of players that all they do is bet in running! The big issue over here is access to certain feeds that are slightly ahead of the racing channels and if you are playing in running, it is financial suicide to do it without the quicker feed.

I like to use it for certain bridle horse that you just know will trade at very low odds in running but invariably find nothing off the bridle.

It would be interesting to see it on dirt racing as to my amateurish eye, races are so often decided within the first 2 furlongs when the pace of the race is set!

This would be extremely exploitable. . . Wish we could get it.

This is already here: it's the system reserved for the WHALES.

This guy's videos are phuckin' genius- thanks for the link. Basically he's taken what happens in real financial markets and put them in play with much less sophisticated opposition in the horse markets.

I would do anything to have real exchange betting here in the US.

It'll be here in 2012 for CA tracks.

Asking for wagers, like the market. There is no "house", just a location to match buyers and sellers. If you like a horse at 4-1 and I think that's too low of odds, I can sell you the wager. Let's say you want $200 on and I only want to book $100 (so risking losing $500), you can find someone else for the remaining $100 at 4-1 or try and lower your price to 3.8-1 (like you would buy a stock at $5 then $5.05.) in the UK they are matching over a million pounds per race on mediocre Wednesday cards. The US needs this.

this system exists. I've seen it in action many times.
horse loads in the gate at 7-2, takes an open length lead on the backstretch at 5-2, turns for home with no contenders at 2-1, and passes the wire at 6-5.
realtime odds, great if you can get in on it.
