Nolan Ryan +Ranger Fans

Nolan is doing the right thing. Drink it off. They get to spend a ton more than anyone else. In any other competitive situation, this would be considered cheating.

When you have Cliff Lee on the mound and a 6-1 lead and you lose, you don't get to complain about the other team's payroll.

Of course, the non-cheaters can complain. You came back, and held the opposition, because you get to outspend everyone by a ton. When you cheat, you deserve no credit, and your opposition deserves no criticism. Period. The Yanks are a pig organization. So, you see nothing wrong with cheating. You hog the best players, because you're pigs. When the top pig died, the rest of you had nothing but praise for him. That's because your morals are sht.... Pig values on display. Other people couldn't get a high off cheating their way to a ring. Not you guys. Didn't bother your high, cuz your values are that low. The Phillies own my team,k? They have the same power to come back as your team. I don't like getting beat by them, but they ain't cheaters like you guys.

Once again, you have one of the two or three best pitchers in the game on the hill and a 5-run lead and you gag. I don't care if you're playing the Super Friends, you hold the lead in that situation or you shut the hell up.

I'm not a Yankee fan, you're just being a baby.

You always stick up for the Yankees. I remember you being pssd when the Halos beat the Yanks in '05. You were all bent about that umpire's decision at 1st base involving ? KROD n' AROD? Joey, when you've got the ability to cheat, then you're gunna come back on people. That's just the way it is. No, you don't get to be proud for coming back, cuz you cheated to get the players to do it with. It's simply morals, and values. If you have them, then you can't enjoy ill-begotten gains.

You had an all-decade pitcher on the mound and a 5-run lead and you lost the game. Stop whining. You want to bitch about the Yankees having the best record in baseball because of their payroll, go ahead. But the Rangers choked tonight's game away and you know it.

I don't stick up for the Yankees, in fact I hardly talk baseball on this board ever. I stick up against whiny cunts who make excuses for a team completely gagging away a game that was in the bag.

No, you ignore advantages. The Yanks come back on people because they've got the expensive bats to do it, and they've got the expensive closer to usually ice the game off. There aren't many closers that can keep a guy from 3rd, with no outs, from scoring. We've seen your hi-priced closer do these things, and then Yankees act like they did something. You paid. That's what ya did. You're paying out twice as much as most teams, and then you say "voila!" As I've told Simon, I didn't think this Feliz guy is good enough to shut down the best teams late in games. His stuff simply doesn't dart enough for me. Regardless, he's a rookie, or whatever. I'm sure if they had your closer, then, they easily ice the game off in the 9th. More often than not, that's what would happen. You're at a huge advantage here. I am surprised when any team holds you off. It's an unfair situation. Of course Yankee fans love that advantage, and call anybody who exposes them a "whiner." I am not whining. You don't deserve credit for buying games.

There is no game in the bag with that Yankee line-up, and Yankee closer. All I'm saying is that Rangers team, and their fans, shouldn't have the very attitude that you're displaying (gagged etc.) It's a big mistake. There closer is decent, but not great. Your closer is the best money can buy. That situation, alone, gives your hitters confidence when they get within a couple runs. Having the Yanks come back on them is normal. Yanks have a big advantage.

Got it. So no matter what happens when a team plays the Yankees, they're off the hook because the Yankees have the biggest payroll. The opposing team has absolutely no responsibility to hold leads or win games. It's never their fault if they lose. That's a good attitude to have.

Antitrust32 08-12-2010 07:25 AM

The Phillies got screwed in the World Series last year if that is the case!

The Yanks won last night because that got a big game out of Marcus Thames. Who I'm pretty much sure, could have been had by any team in the league for not that much money. Also I don't see what your beef is about their all world closer. He is a home grown guy that just happened to turn into the best guy ever to play the role/position. While you'll get no arguement from me about their willing/ability to throw money around, your rant about last nights game has nothing to do with your grudge about them being pigs. And I didn't even mention a first place team blowing a 5-1 lead with one of the top pitchers in the league on the hill.

horseofcourse 08-12-2010 11:12 AM

I think the way the rules are set up in baseball, a team is allowed to spend WAY more than the other teams if they want. And despite this "cheating" there were recently 9 consecutive years when non-Yankee teams were major league champions. So the last decade, the cheating only got them so far until last year of course when they picked up the erstwhile Indians star lefty. They'll be really fun next year when they pick up the other Indians star lefty who had trouble with the 5 run lead last night. He'll be on the pinstripe side next year.

Crown@club 08-12-2010 11:51 AM

Lets, see how the Yanks score shall we.

Jeter - homebred - triples and scores on wildpitch in the 6th
The 7th
Cano - homebred - doubles
Kearns - making ML minimum after signing Minor League contracts - singles - received in trade
Berkman - Yanks received money in trade (basically to buy out his option for next year) Ground rule double, scores Cano
Gardner - homebred - singles - Kearns scores

The 8th -
Thames - homebred then trade to Texas for Ruben Sierra - signs 2.27 million for the year - Homers

The 9th -
Berkman walked. Pitch ran by worthless traded player
Gardner - homebred singles
Jeter - homebred singles and scores worthless traded player.
Thames - (won't detail him again) singles and scores Gardner

Where's the money buy players (Teix on leave), AROD?
Vazquez pitched like crap and has now face the fact he doesn't have a fastball anymore. Mitre a little reliever and Kerry Wood
Mariano is a homebred who signed a Amatuer Free agent deal and didn't debut for 6 years.

Neftali is going to be a really good one. Became a closer after a half of season in the Majors. He's bred to be the man

Best money can buy? How are the Cubs doing with a High Payroll? Hey they're the Cubs. How about the Mets? $120 million next year just for 6 players alone. (I'm sure they are hoping somebody would claim Oliver Perez)

By the way I'll take Matt Kemp if you only want a bag of balls. I can see the future. Signs for 15-20 million with the Yanks, and Scuds would say, "see those whores continues to cheat."

I love it sometimes when Scuds rants, he's just illogical (Velez, Broxton, Kershaw), but lately its gotten a little tiresome, and you just have to respond with "GO GIANTS!"

Cannon Shell 08-12-2010 02:15 PM

Please don't insult us with the yankees don't really have an advantage stuff. They have a massive advantage. Your a fan? Deal with the fact that your team starts with a headstart, a big headstart.

But Texas lost last night for one reason that almost all teams lose 5 run leads late. The bullpen. Looked very shaky. They should try to make Rich Harden a RP. He would be much more effective pitching 2 or 3 innings twice a week.

And are there really any Ranger fans? I have never met one.

SCUDSBROTHER 08-12-2010 03:59 PM

Average players can play pretty damn well when their efforts are pile on efforts (that aren't mandatory to thev team's success.) Yea, the Yankee reliever is homegrown, but the Yanks never had to worry about losing him to free agency(everyone knows they will pay anything it takes.) Other teams lose their players to free agency. They can't afford to keep all of their homegrown players. The Rangers bullpen is vulnerable to the top teams. Again, if they've got the most expensive reliever in baseball, then they hold last night. So, don't tell me the Yanks win because they're game. They win, because they keep their best players, and buy any of the other teams' best free agents....FK Indiana...If you were relevant, you'd have an MLB franchise. You know how a very Conservative state goes for Obama? Well, White Trash was probably too busy buying Cigarettes, Lotto, and fake Chilli-Cheese Nachos.

Yeah, because Cliff Lee is making peanuts.

Who the hell said anything about the Yankees being game? All anybody has said is that it's a sissy attitude to excuse the Rangers for choking that game away because the other team gets paid more.

Crown@club 08-12-2010 04:17 PM
