7/30: Saratoga (Day 7-Fleet Indian)

Strange events during the P6 sequence as Pletcher-Scatuorchio runner System Ready, one of the strong possibilities, was scratched in the paddock for wearing illegal turn downs as footwear. Fold in the early scratch of Nacho Business, and chaos emerged as a result with Weaver returnee Powhattan County ($15.40) winning and derailing the carryover try. Having 4 other winners on the ticket, I suppose in one way that was a better result than staying alive there and arriving at the nightcap to see 4th choice Karakorum Legend ($15.80) emerge victorious absent from the $192 play. The sequence returned a robust $14,200. The rest of the day was very chalky including the money-losing early P4 ($45 invested, $33 returned). Hope you did well!

SARATOGA

POST-SCRATCHES

1st: CLM, 3+, 8.5f-IT (P3, DD, Super)

2nd: NY-MDN CLM, F&M-3+, 6f (P4, P3, DD, Super)

Curious group of state bred maidens with no form or just starying out. Feels like a dangerous spot..

Strange things happen in long races with short fields. Shug and Zito both flat exiting the starting gate at Spa, and at anything close to the ML of 3-1, the Mott/Mo runner seems the right key..

Best Value: #2 Film Charm 3-1 3rd
Next Best: #1 Persistently 9-5 WON ($5.50)
Exotics Use: #4 SCR

Some pedigrees on parade here with #5 Puzzling a half to Dancing Forever, #8 Holidaysatthefarm a half to Rich in Spirit and #11 (AE) Winter Memories the next daughter of Memories of Silver. And as we learned Thursday with the 7th, turf routes with babies are chaotic by nature, and there are several here who have more than enough breeding influence and connection power to perform well in this..

Best Value: #8 Holidaysatthefarm 6-1: Proctor off well; Turf stretchout suits.. 5th
Next Best: #10 Artisanal 5-1: Maybe this one gets to paddock with legal footwear.. 10th

.10 Super Play: 6/SCR with 2-4-5-8-9 with 2-4-5-8-9 with 2-4-5-8-9

<$75 P4 Play:

Fun sequence with big potential for quality return. Key is skein starter where baby turf route has wide permutations..

6: 7-8-10
7: 5-6

The 3rd and the 6th look pretty tough IMO. I was actually a bit intrigued with McPeeks horse as an interesting long shot in the 6th.

Best of luck again today Steve :)

The first is practically written for Chad Brown's horse as it just makes the field by a day.

I am probably close to last in hearing this but I guess Dutrow doesn't like his horse in the last at all. I was told to use 2,5,9,10 but I am not driving up to make the bets

On paper he looks like he'd have to fall down to lose but only 9-5 on the board.
