Appreciate the nice sentiment regarding the 4-7p slot. ATR was there a long time, and I understand that the 9a-12p is going to take some getting used to... I hope listeners will take afvantage of the internet stream, which starts immediately after the show wraps live, and loops continuously. The podcast service and archive are options as well.
SARATOGA PLAN For the Saratoga season, KC and I have developed a plan that we hope will satisfy listeners that particularly enjoy the summer shows.. Saratoga ATR will be live on the Internet AFTERNOONS (3p-6p) from the Barbecue on racing weekdays (Mon-Wed-Thurs-Fri). The show will offer live morning shows on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, and utilize the previously recorded afternoon broadcasts Mondays, Thursday and Fridays 9a-12p. Hope this works for everyone... Let me know thoughts... Am trying hard to deliver the best show possible under the circumstances, and want to be able to capture the Saratoga excitement that listeners have come to enjoy. |
I can't listen to the stream at work, unfortunately. But since I get out a little after 3, I might be able to listen to it in the car via my Android phone if the stream is compliant with that browser, or if I can get an app to do it. I'll just patch it in to my AUX feed to the radio.
"Necessity is the mother of invention", and it is very necessary to get Steve's Saratoga shows! |
afternoon 4-7 was perfect
the afternoon hours was great-Steve has done a great job with the show-now I listen to rerun of the stern show on my drive home-like all shows that are good -the suits change the schedules-if xm loses stern ,there is no reason to have xm-steve you have the best horseracing show on any media-keep up the good work

Steve - Thanks for the extra effort, especially with Saratoga. I know you are busy and the next 7 weeks will be a blur of 18 hour days so I want to say thanks in advance.
The 9 - 12 is an adjustment. I work at home and so I can listen to you in the mornings, but my heart is in the afternoon hours. I am a creature of habit and NPR, BBC in the morning with ATR in the afternoon. Trying to switch that around but it is a transition. Looking forward to heading up to Saratoga in the near future. |

Got the book Steve thanks again....kev

Thanks for all the effort Steve. Hope the weather improves for you the rest of the weekend. Judging no big time Jocks came down from Saratoga to Monmouth to ride against Rachel makes me think she should roll tomorrow.
|
Steve - Just heard an ATR replay on Sirius 126. 830PM. Something new?

I got in my truck yesterday afternoon at around 5:30 (eastern) and was happy to hear a replay of Monday's broadcast on XM. I hope it's back for good!

woooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!

although i can listen to the show occasionally at work,
it sucks because the damn work gets in the way of listening to the show. |
When things don't make sense it is almost always about money somehow. As much as Steve's efforts to provide a live show each afternoon during the week the spa is running are greatly appreciated I can't believe the time change benefits XM/Sirius over the long haul.
Aren't there less morning listeners for ATR than when it was broadcast in the afternoon?? How does management benefit from this time change? Please don't tell me that TVG without video gets better ratings than ATR in the afternoon slot. BTW was that Ken Rudolph unmuted reading copy on True Blood Sunday night? The Vamps aren't scary enough.....now we have to tolerate the man responsible for more dead money than the gross national product of many a moderate country with his So Cal selections ruining arguably the best show on TV. Hopefully Russell has another TV cameo of his own...... |
