The Pennsylvania Horse Racing Commission will begin testing for the stamina-boosting formulas known as milkshakes beginning July 15, commission officials said on Tuesday.

this should even things out...

good luck with TARGET tomorrow. Notice the comment from last race says, rank, tired. What actually happened that they would mark as rank?

pgiaco 06-23-2010 09:10 PM

Thanks everyone..was wishing the race would come off the grass today. Pretty sure his turf career is over. Good luck Chuck and Paul tomorrow.

PSH 06-23-2010 10:40 PM

TP last race was very rank and tried to go after another horse. He was also acting up before the race. He was immediately gelded and his last couple of works might indicate that he is back on "target". I was amazed despite all of his adventures last time out he still ran a 15 on the thorograph sheets. I am hoping he can run a new top and the 5 horse bounces of his last effort and going 2 turns. Happy to see Tony making the trip to ride him at the scene of his maiden win.

I guess i am cautiously optimistic for a better showing....

Nice win in today's Belmont 1st by Loyal Shadow. Ran down a 4/5 Rudy Rod horse.

Congrats Dr. Paul.

Danzig 07-11-2010 12:16 PM

cool! congrats pg!!

Kasept 07-11-2010 12:24 PM

Just talked to the boys... Obviously thrilled with the big effort. First photo for the Giacopelli twins too! Loyal Shadow really sharp and fine tuned after a long road back.

pgiaco 07-12-2010 10:46 AM

Thanks everyone!! This one was sweet because it was the first trip to the winner's circle for the twins. It has been a long road for "Shadow" since she came up from Fla. last year. Always hinted that she had some ability but the light has really come on with the switch back to the grass.. Fabulous work by Gary, Paul and Javier too. The jock also deserves a ton of credit, he works her in the mornings and he rides her with confidence and he seems to fit her like a glove....she sure makes it interesting right to the end though!
