As I predicted

Not that I'm tooting my own horn here, but I felt watching the Foster that Blame's win was going to be pretty overrated because of how Battle Plan ran. He looked like a done horse.

He's always had issues. Lots of Pletch horses having short careers.

He started running really herky jerky, for lack of a better term, on the turn, then really looked like crap in the lane.

It almost looked like he bobbled, or took a couple of missteps, on the turn.

"I understand by the many comments on here that there were high hopes for Battle Plan. And Blame certainly didnt have the best of trips to run him down, but I just couldnt help but notice, and I saw this watching live, that about 100yrs from the wire BP was looking for a place to lay down. He had everything his own way and basically stopped at the wire. Although it was a solid G1 win for Blame I just didnt see it as awesome. BP put up zero fight at the wire."

A Battle Plan injury does not take away from Blame's performance from start to finish. Blame ran against the setup and the grain of the track, and that, at least in my opinion, is not tarnished by an injury to the frontrunner.

Yeah, I called it too in the other thread. I thought he was done on the turn.

Yeah it does. He wouldn't have won.

Yeah it does. He wouldn't have won.

Your attempts to be so matter of fact are appreciated though completely unsubstantiated. Even if you think Blame wouldn't have caught Battle Plan had the injury not happened, it would have been painfully obvious who ran the best race.

I know what you are saying as well.

However, had BP won by drawing off by 5, I would not agree with you.

You called it. In the other thread you said that you thought Battle Plan got hurt in the race. They said it was an injury to his right leg. That is probably why he switched back to his left lead just passed the 1/16th pole.

blackthroatedwind 06-14-2010 03:20 PM

Wow, you called a 5YO with five career starts was going to suffer a career ending injury.

Nostradmus Charlie you aint.

Not quite what I said Francis.

I had said he lost the race because he looked like he got hurt during the race.

And again, it wasn't to toot my own horn.

I thought the race was kinda ugly all around and the win was tainted.

I'm just teasing.

However, Blame still ran very well.

I tried to be as vicious as possible, but the only other one I could come up with was Prostate Operator2.

I felt that that was not harsh enough.
