Sad to see this, I love this guy and what a job by Sheppard.

I was looking forward to seeing him run Friday. Now it looks like I won't see him run again at all. I really liked him after his comeback.

Saw Mushka was retired as well. A millionaire.

I hope he is able to come back. I think he will.

Even Cloudy's Knight, who suffered a tendon injury at Keeneland, might not be done for 2010.

"He's gone back to the farm, and we're going to tinker and see what happens," Sheppard said. "If he could run two or three times at the end of the year, it would be worth bringing him back."

Cloudy's Knight might be back......

Sheppard said Tuesday that he intended to work 10-year-old Cloudy’s Knight at Delaware Park on Wednesday morning, and that “if all goes well, we will go ahead and ship.”

Guess we will find out more today. I hope he comes back ready to go.

I am a big Cloudy fan and would love to see him win a graded stake and stamp his name in the history books as the first 10 y-o in North American History to do so.

I thought he was overlooked last year at the eclipse awards and he is a personal favorite of mine.

Good luck Cloudy. We're all with you on your quest for a graded stakes win at 10:)

What exactly should he have gotten?

Cloudy's Knight retired

http://www.thoroughbredtimes.com/rac...t-retired.aspx

Accomplished veteran stayer and crowd favorite Cloudy’s Knight has been retired after a right front suspensory injury flared up while he was preparing for the Sycamore Stakes (G3) on Thursday at Keeneland Race Course.

The ten-year-old Lord Avie gelding had a chance to become the oldest career graded stakes winner in the Sycamore after finishing second in the Kentucky Cup Turf Stakes (G3) in September at Kentucky Downs in his only start this season.

Wish I had that horse in my imaginary barn.

(Stupidly forgot to say cheers to our friends at Arlington Park!).

Thanks for the link to this! Cloudy's Knight was one of the first horses I was a fan of!

I think about him alot because I never knew where he wound up after he was retired. I hope he is on some farm enjoying life - maybe this video tells what became of him.

His 9 year old season was like a fairy tale! He was so close to winning a breeders cup race, he lost by a nostril if I remember correctly. Had he won Cloudy would have become the oldest horse to ever win a breeders cup race!

I am so glad he had enough fans to make a video on him! I can't wait to watch!

A great story on so many levels.
