Panera Bread blocks wagering sites

Found out today from a friend of mine that Panera Bread blocks wagering sites from their wi-fi. He tried to put in a bet through twinspires and couldn't reach the site. :(

So?

MISTERGEE 04-13-2010 01:46 PM

so he will have to find a new place to get his bagels

ninetoone 04-13-2010 01:51 PM

what was the bet he was going to put in? Did it hit?

letswastemoney 04-13-2010 04:15 PM

they block paceadvantage as well. but strangely derbytrail works

Do they block the sites becasue they don't want customers to bet or becasue they don't want employees to be able to place wagers?

you can still call it in but that is a little cumbersome

The Fortune 6 at Beulah... no, I don't think it would have hit.

Why would anyone be in a Pandora Bread anyways?

Overpriced and over-bready, not enough fixins, and not very flavorful.

About the only place they are better than (sandwich type places) would be Subway.

Oh the humanity.

They are the only fast food restaurant I'll eat at besides the Whole Foods cafe. Their salads are good and the chicken is real chicken not that scary stuff other places use.

If you eat chicken, you almost have to eat organic.

Arsenic is a common additive to non organic chicken feed, as it's used to 'deter' pests from eating it. So to speak.

If I'm going to slum it and eat fast food, I usually go for Quiznos.

You make me seem so normal. :p

The place isn't bad, and it has a nice atmosphere. I wanted to bring it to your attention since when I saw my buddy couldn't submit his bet, we had no way of knowing that the site vital to doing that would be blocked.

Unfortunately, the prices for mobile broadband are still a little too high to justify for casual or infrequent use, so most of us are stuck looking for good (free) wifi, but we don't know if we'll be able to load the URLs we need.

I hate normal, so I'll take that as a compliment.

If you really need to get your fix while at Pandora Bread, or even at work, subscribe to some VPN, or IP screening service.
