When Steve says panic, I will panic.

Assemblyman Gary Pretlow (Chairman of Assembly Racing Committee) on ATR at 4:30p today to talk about his plan which came close to being implemented last Friday. He is calling for a dismantling of NYC OTB with its' online and telephone wagering being turned over to NYRA. That move, which would be a major step in the right direction, was stopped by someone in the Governor's office at the last minute.

Sandy Frucher is pulling out all stops and calling in all the political capital he can manipulate in an effort to execute his insane 'plan' which as Barry Ostrager insightfully points out, "kills the host to save the parasite". OTB 'lives' to serve the racetrack product... not the other way around.

Thanks Steve. Will be listening today, as usual.

There's always some political drama with New York racing since what seems like forever.
