Don't look now but his barn has been decent over the last few days. He's 10-2-2-2 since they went to the main track.

He was never a 'serious' trainer. But it's nice to see that he's still around.

No. He was a 'hobbyist' trainer... He's a wonderful guy.

Gary is on his way to a much better season. Over the last 30 days, Sciacca is 25/4-4-5 (W-16%; ITM-52%). Obviously Lloydobler and Judicial Leader both came as close to winning as you can Saturday which would have pushed the wins to 6. He's picked up a couple of nice claiming owners over the winter and improved stock via turnover. He also got rid of a very bad owner who was a negative influence on everything around the barn.

One thing that always strikes me with Super G is how many riders he uses. He gives EVERYONE mounts. Of the 25 starts the last month, he's used 12 different jocks! Hill, Prado (1 win), Mig, Mussaro, Cornelio, Ramon (2 wins), Luzzi (1 win), Saez, Serpa, A. Lopez and C.C. Lopez, Cohen...

Loved when he popped that 50 buck horse in the last on Whitney day last summer. Bullsbay was 19 to 1 the race before.

That was Tutti Va Bene and she was 19-1 too. Luzzi gave her an unbelievably great ride from the 11 hole (5f-T). Nipped Eddie Lotruglio's Our Montana Dream who was maybe 40-1. A client of Gary's had the exacta a whole bunch of times and walked out with over $20k.

The race you describe above was my biggest score all of last year as well. I was at Saratoga a few weeks later and went to the barn area to see Lloyd (then Harold) only to find that he was still at Belmont. Paul Barone was extremely nice to us and when I told him about how Tutti Va Benne had made my summer, he surprised us by telling us that she was arriving any minute to their barn for a race the next day. They let us wait around so I could meet my new favorite horse and get some pictures. I have yet to meet Gary but his staff is all class.

Even better, Tutti Va Benne is in today in the 9th race. Perhaps a good omen...

Sorry 19-1....That was also the day I unloaded on Mott's Dynaforce in the Bev D. Beat the even money Pure Clan. Need a day like that once a month:)

Your Dad and I must have brought her good luck with our visit this AM... :D

Strikes again with the Vin Man in the 6th, you can only hope to contain him! Maybe we should think about getting Lloyd one more start on the Big A main! ;)

pmacdaddy 04-14-2010 03:01 PM

Currently (16 4-2-2 ) 25% since coming off the Inner.

Now it's time for me to screw up the rest of this Vin Man pk4...
