Demonstration needed during Wood telecast

Just brainstorming here . If I am wrong please forgive me . It seems that during the national telecast of the Wood Sat. 5-6 pm on NBC that some sort of action regarding the stalled racino and NYC OTB problem needs to be taken . Something like flashing "We want a racino NOW" on the big screen so the crowd can join in and chant . Signs, marching, anything civilly permissible and non-violent to let the national audience know NY racing is in jeopardy and action needs to be taken now .

Comments ?

Everyone should drop their pants at the conclusion of the bugler calling the horses for the Wood. The rest of the nation will go "WTF?" and then the NY horsemen will get plenty of airtime to explain their beefs.

If they wanted mainstream media to notice, they'd demonstrate during the Final Four telecast. People will actually be watching that.

I think the mainstream media already knows that the NY State government is inept.

Come to think of it- the only way people outside the sport are going to care/give a second look, would be if NYRA could somehow hook up with the kids/schools who would be directly affected by the infusion of cash that these machines are supposed to deliver. Then the plan becomes about helping children, which everyone cares about. As opposed to these whiney horseman complaing about the lack of money that the state is infusing into the sport. If you don't know the whole story, (I'm guessing many people in NY do not) they just think this is something that soley affects racing. Hopefully if more people outside the sport knew what the terminals really meant, they would be on Albany too trying to get the deal done.

We should be protesting the 6 horse field

It would have been 10 or 11 but the threat of entering the mighty Nicky Boy scared a bunch of marginal contenders away.
