This has to be a record....

I was doing a little research into the Maker-Stronach-Giant's Causeway firster in the last today at Gulfstream, Gigantos.
He has an amazing record of 35 published works, without ever running a race.
Of course, there are more than a few gaps.

Since this is Maker's first ever start for a Stronach owned runner....I would expect a decent showing.

Maker is a 9% with firsters @98 trys

AeWingnut 02-11-2010 12:12 PM

I get the strange feeling that this one fires huge today, nothing special in here either.

he said he is a crazy sob that is always hurting himself.
I told him to chop those nuts off...that should calm him down.

Your boy's horses haven't been running well down south. Usually he has some 'nut' fresh horses that pop down there. What's the deal? I thought the turf horse from yesterday that I can't spell and too lazy to look up got a pretty bad trip, got out rode by Lezcano on the backside......

hoovesupsideyourhead 02-12-2010 09:40 AM

ran out of oats n water?

I told him a mongoose must have got loose in the barn.

Fwiw, he was a shitty 25% going into Thursday's card.

I wasn't saying shitty, but I think you would agree that his horses do not seem as fresh and strong as years past at Gulfstream. It seems that most of his claimers are at Turfway. Just an obversation.

Ken Ramsey is putting all his eggs (or most of them) in the Kitten's Joy basket.
Which means he is claiming a lot less....which was where a lot of Maker's wins have came from the last 2-3 years...I mean they claimed Furthest Land for 35k and, he blossomed when given the oppurtunity to run long.

Wow!

Who sold him on that brilliant idea? KJ has been a great turf sire, but one has to see that alot of ones that were winning early were winning with great out of the box trainers.

Should be really interesting how it will shake out.

hockey2315 02-12-2010 05:48 PM

Great?

Ok, should have used good, was just typing.

I'd like to see the breakdown of 2 year old wins by trainer for KJ's. Probably an impossible stat to find but who knows with the people around here and their skills.

VOL JACK 02-12-2010 05:52 PM

They were not winning very early for Maker.
He sprinted a lot of them on the dirt, just to get a race into them.
then sprinted a lot of them on the turf, all the while knowing they wanted to go long.
I think KJ is gonna be a useful sire.....but him standing for 40k this year in this horse economy is laughable.
