Tony Stabile returns

Who knows if Penn National can run the villianous Mike Gill out ... but I see they've added some great integrity and charchter to their already sterling roster of fine upstanding trainers ....

Tony Stabile went 7-for-18 there last year ... and is being named as trainer of record with a few horses owned by Jamie Ness's boys.

Is he the same guy who worked as a handicapper for the New York Post?

That's his son I guess. He's the former jock agent/trainer/a lot of things.

His greatest claim to fame is perhaps being the man who brought John Gotti Jr. to Erie ... or so he said.

He's related to Anthony Stabile? The guy from the Gambino family?

He insisted on taking me to the bars downtown and convincing girls that I was a punter for the Seattle Seahawks and he was my agent trying to land me a good contract with either the Steelers, Browns, or Bills.

Actually Anthony Stabile was represented in Goodfellas, played by Frank Adonis. More of a background gangster in the film, but was supposed to be the one to whack Henry Hill before he testified against them.

In real life he caught one in the back of the head - gangland execution style - on Cross Bay Boulevard in Howard Beach, Queens, NY in 1985.
