Gulfstream, Race 6 Wednesday

Florentino, 6-1 ML is crazy. There is no early speed in this race, and the horse will love the hard course it will get here, I think hes long gone, hopefully his form is bad enough to get some sort of price. Any opinions?

I think you will even get better odds than that, Star Plus looks like the one to beat

Better then 6-1? I dont think I would know what to do, I would be so excited. IMO, hes the only horse in there with room to improve still, and hes the loan speed, and his races over this surface compared to everything else make him a horse for the course and all the trainer stats for this situation make him look even better.

true, the positives are not much speed in there and nice record at GP

Gaining Ground 01-26-2010 12:46 PM

florentino will probably be 2-1. he might win because he is lone speed. but hes a bad bet at low odds

This is one gutless POS that will get everything his own way tomorrow.
Seems like the perfect situation for him (and his juicer trainer).
(Which really makes one wonder why these trainers don't cover their asses by entering an additional, speed, horse, just in case the race comes up speed favoring. You can always scratch. Guess this is just asking too much.)

I'm staying out of the race for 2 reasons, however:

1) He won't be much of a price

2) Even though the 1 is not much horse, Penna excels in long layoff situations. and he figures to step him up a bit.

2-1 ? Then I will be shocked

Star Plus was entered in a turf stake of the lay off and scratched when the race was taken off the turf. This seems like an easier spot for him.

The 6 in R9 looks very interesting to me. . . Obviously bred for turf and working up a storm. Outworked Hey Byrn going a mile on Dec. 30. Hey Byrn ran a 93 in his comeback last week. It's probably too much to ask to get anything close to the 10-1 ML, but hopefully they don't send it in too hard.

i see your 6 and toss in the 9 another bred for the turf type who str his leggs
at aq, working well on track and gets jj who is riding well as of late.tagg has good numbers at this move. looks to have the early speed to get position.may need one..may not
