Good News From The Auto Industry

well kind of. Ford announced it will hire 1,200 new workers in the Chicago area to build the new Ford EXPLORER SUV a truck they obviously feel Americans want and did it all w/o a Government Bailout :tro: :tro:

Meanwhile GM announced they are selling off their Saab division to a Euro company losing jobs forever but on a positive note announced the plans to build electric cars (translation Golf Carts) in 2013 in Baltimore. More HOPE as in HOPE the plan comes to fruition and HOPE Americans begin embracing golf carts as preferred transportation.

In an unabashed whore-like-move Obama will travel from DC to visit the Ford plant today for the announcement. :wf

Don't hold back Del.......Tell us exactly how you feel. Your emotion was so intense about this one that it was actually a duplicate post for me.

You really do hate this president don't you??

I'm getting close and will admit I'm far closer to hating him than loving him but hate is still too strong for right now. The fact he remained on the campaign trail rather than being w/his g-ma on her death bed, you know the one he describes as most influential and the biggest role model for him, speaks volumes about his real character.

.

On the same day Verizon said they are laying off thousands.

you don't know what type of conversations went on between him and his grandmother-she may well have told him to stay out there. you're reaching with this thread, and this post.
this president is doomed with some no matter what he does.

Ford was saved by The United Auto Workers Union.

We have too many jobs that are lost forever. Gigantic steel industry? Big automotive? Forget it. The future is "green jobs", and other countries are proving it. We need to create new types of jobs. The old ones, the old paradigm, is gone forever.

You are kidding right?

Cannon Shell 01-26-2010 09:31 PM

What other countries are proving the future is "green" jobs?
Who is going to "create" these jobs?
The UAW?

Do any of you realize what Ford has done with its debt, why they did it and the impact it will have on its future?

I'm sure the answer will be above the pay grade of a typical political thread but you will enlighten us anyway.

I was going to nominate you, for repeatedly reading posts, then maintaining they say the exact opposite of what they say ;)

While awaiting your award, please, feel free to learn about the jobs that are lost in this country forever (as this as been going on for at least 10 years), and take Chuck with you, to learn about the fastest growing job categories in other first world countries that do NOT have 10% unemployment.

Oh so the Unions role in causing many of the issues which led to the position that Ford was in is ignored? This is like giving the kidnapper credit for not killing the hostage.

You just are not capable of discussing subjects without insulting other people, are you?

yea they get to build SUV's while giving up DOE money in a gamble americans will continue to buy their trucks in lieu of golf carts. It's a gamble on the Pres being gone long before it matters and relied on bank loans instead of taxpayer loans and big brother. IMO It's a good bet!

What are you talking about? Why are you changing the subject?

We were talking about why Ford didn't take government money or go bankrupt, and you laughed at my comment about the Union concessions. Apparently you are unfamiliar.
