Doc says I might not make it

I know I haven't been on here here fore ever but I'd like to think I still have a few friends on here. Had an EKG done and he says I've had a mild heart attack with low O2 in my blood. Going to see the Cardo Doc today. I'm only 36 but Type 2 with really high blood pressure. 240/148 I know I know that's way to high but I'm a guy and well I'm stupid. We all have vises in our life's. Mine is not taking of myself. Anyway enough pitty on my part. Thought I'd reach out for support and I've gotten good help from here in the past. Local Track has closed so I don't keep up on here until Oaklawn starts up. Thanks guys.

Dude, I don't know your status (married...kids...etc) but not taking care of yourself isn't a vice, it's stupidity. You should probably take this as a wake up call. Hopefully it isn't too late and you can get yourself better. Your a young guy, why waste what could be a long life ahead of you? Look at these shows of these obese people that can't get out of the house and end up losing all kinds of weight. So there's always hope, but you are the only on who could do it. I wish you well and hope you get better.

Packer: I'm sorry to hear you're not doing better. That is a serious blod pressure stat man......you got to get a reality check quick. I assume you're still heavy, so think very seriously about Lap-band surgery. It's not as complicated as gastric-bypass. If you start doing what the doc says, you can stick around for many more years. But high BP and Diabetes are 2 things you can't mess with.....certainly not at 36. You could quite posibly have a rare type of Diabetes called brittle diabetes.....it messes with your mood swings and can have serious pyschological repercussions. Just take it a day at a time and build a new foundation for your health. It's really up to you. Are you still married? Kids? You can rebuild your health and everbody wins.

No not really bad over weight. 5'11'' and 235 today. Married no kids but wife has a heart condition that requires lot's of meds and pacemaker. EKG showed a small heart attack and or stress point. Something he called a tombstone on the EKG. (yeah with a name like that it can't be good.) Had an EKG 5 years ago and it's showing lack of O2 in the blood hence my 12% hba1c level of sugar. Water and celery for me here on out. Told my wife to 911 is she sees me with anything other than water in my hamd. She even called work and told them to do the same. No more ****ing around it's time to get to work on my health.

Good luck. You are going to need any extensive workup. There are alot of things we can do to improve your survival. I have been following several people that fit you description for 10-15 years and are pretty well. That said,

YOU NEED TO TAKE YOUR MEDS!!!

Hopefully this will turn out to be a blessing in disguise and this will in fact be the "wake up call" you needed to start taking care of yourself.

I hope you feel better soon. Keep us posted on your progress.
