Aqueduct Inner starts Wed 12/2

The next 75 racing days at Aqueduct will be run on the Inner Dirt Track. There will still be turf racing weather permitting. You can probably figure about 5 days to be cancelled because of weather, but even with that, its time to settle in and start following the new surface.

Thoughts on the meet? I like it and will follow it intently.

Good point. Contessa is like the modern day Gasper Moschera or Peter Ferriola. Problem is his horses almost always get bet and he sends out so many, you can easily bet "the wrong ones".

Look out for John Terranova as well. Hes going to leave behind some horses with real shots this winter and he is often overlooked in the wagering, especially in stakes races. Broadway Producer just ran 3rd at the Meadowlands in a stake, but he should be back soon for another try, this time on the Inner. Also, True Resurgence should be gearing up for a campaign on the Inner.

I am actually truly excited to see Broadway Producer and True Resurgence run. I have waited a long time to bet them both on the inner.

I had no idea Broadway Producer ran at the Meadowlands last week until after the race. I was very excited to see that he didnt win buecause I would have missed out on him at 6/1 against a field I would have bet on him at about 3/1. True Resurgence should be running very soon.

I bet on him. He ran like s.hit. He had the rail turning for home and completely hung. The winner stayed in the four path the entire way and wired them.

The most amazing part of it is that they bet the crap out of the entry and the more powerful half was Ea, not exactly a good horse nor one that you'd like at a place like Meadowlands.

Sorry, probably should have realized he was bet by a few on here. I didnt see the race but from the charts it looks like he was just flat with no excuse.

Try him back when he gets on the inner.

Can't stand the inner. Hibernation until Gulf and SA

No, that's fine, I'm more frustrated with myself for hating the favorite and not cashing while recognizing that the eventual winner was perfectly likeable.

He has run well on the inner in the past and is a horse to watch for the Queens County/Aqueduct Handicap/Stymie, etc.

At the Disco is a horse I have bet on a couple of times and done very well on. I was kind of wondering why a horse for course like him could go off at 10/1. I dont follow Meadowlands very closely but it seems to be kind to speed.

aren't we going to the inner a little early here? the weather has been fine

and why 12 days of no racing in ny , makes no sense in these economic times?

Because it's been that way for 35 years, since they went to year round racing?

I dont remember the Big A being closed for 12 days until about a few years ago. I can remember betting Aqueduct on Christmas Eve in the 90's.

i know, but its a good change. people need a break. one of the "problems" of racing is tracks are opened too much, in my opinion. hey gander, don't forget tony dutrow, don't have his stats handy but he crushed aqueduct last year!
