Steve hoping for Prince Khalid Abdullah?

Only got to catch the first hour, but Dottie and Rick Dutrow were really fantastic guests.

Dutrow recalling Frankel's sarcastic remark to him about being the first guy to put blinkers on a horse was classic.

Steve:

Tremendous show today. You, Steve and your guests provided some heartfelt, meaningful and wonderfully funny stories. Thanks to all for sharing.

RIP Bobby Frankel.

I enjoyed it as well and had many smiles while listening. Especially the "texting" story :)

It was also great to listen to all those past races that I had forgotten about.

Two thumbs up Steve :tro:

Steve Byk..........

That was one of the finest broadcasts in the history of radio. A very deserving tribute to one of the greats Bobby Frankel. I'm sitting there at work fighting back the tears, just wanting to give Dottie Ingordo a hug and shoulder. My heart goes out to her and John. Then I'm laughing at Sciacca's burgers and wine stories, very funny. Dutrow was amazing, and as always Haskin's historical stories of the great races, before an after they happen are always wonderful. Also loved hearing the race replays, with Durkin's terrific calls, brings chills. Steve, the whole tribute was just wonderful! It was a privelage to listen to such an amazing tribute, my thanks to you and the entire lineup. :tro:

I imagine Frankel would have been available.. They certainly were a hell of a team.

freddymo 11-16-2009 08:18 PM

He certainly had the single most elite turf runners in the US. More importantly, they performed. While I certainly had issues with Frankel as a bettor...............Today is hardly the day..

Great show, very heartfelt......the story after 2002 Travers with Gary was great! Times like these, we remember the good times and the memories.

Anywhere we can go to get a transcript for the show? I wasn't able to hear it and would love to read/hear some of the stories. Thanks.

Great show, Steve.

Kasept 11-17-2009 06:12 AM

Thanks all above for the very kind words... Was a privilege for me to put the show together.

I hope those that tuned in enjoyed Monday's show. The objective was to have Frankel's closest friends share their thoughts and appreciation of his unique character. I'd like to think that came through Monday.

Tremendous show Steve. Just listend to the replay at work. Was wondering if it's possible for your next best of show to put together some or all of the times you talked to Bobby?

RIP Bobby.

Hammer had some good stories about Frankel scratching over a pound. :D

He will be missed. The guy was a legend.
