1 that comes to mind at 78 is warren buffett - but there is 1 difference between him and bowden - buffett owns the co no one can fire him , he is going to die there

bowden does not own florida st , he is an employoee at the end of the day and while the team is not terrible it is a far cry from the 14 in a row top 5 finshes back across the 80's and 90's and early part of this decade - he is in a results business

joe pa has actually gone from some pretty bad teams a few years ago to being better the last couple of years - the difference in my opinion is the level of expectations - FSU fans expect to be in the nat'l championship race , PSU fans are happy if they win 9-10 games and make a run at the rose bowl , being in the nat'l championship race would be like a bonus

bowden and fsu are victims of a few things:
#1 the urban meyer effect. fla has gotten All/most of the #1 or #2 talent in fla. add in schools outside fla raiding the state.
another big consideration, the state of fla has four new D1 programs. usf, ucf, fiu and fau. second and third level talent can go to these programs and play right away. some borderline players just need a chance. also academic standards are not as tough and easier to get kids in school.
