The 4th Kind...

Has anyone saw it?

South Beach Luv 11-11-2009 10:37 AM

It has a 15% on RT. Now sometimes you can completly ignore their ratings but 15% is pretty bad.

I saw it last night, its decent and makes you really wonder. Its more of a documentary. RT SUCKS... They gave District 9 a 90% and its one of the top movies of this year, it was EASILY the worst movie I have ever saw and a waste of my 20$.

District 9 got it's high review because alot of people see it more as a social commentary than a fun scifi movie.

I don't trust that site either btw.

They only gave Idiocracy a 74%, and another GREAT recent scifi type movie, The Man From Earth, isn't even rated, for some reason.

That movie was dreadful.

I'm more with you than with IC on this one ... I thought it was nothing special.

Still, it was the kind of movie that would have been WAY, WAY funnier if you're drunk or high.

My brothers and a lot of there friends seem super funny you when hang out with them when you're drinking ... but when you're sober ... they have their brief shining moments here and there ... but they pretty much suck and are a lot less funnier.

Sightseek 11-11-2009 07:21 PM

The idea behind the movie was funny, I just thought they didn't deliver on it.

Yeah, I saw it. I didn't care for it that much, but I didn't hate it either.

The social commentary was pretty obvious. Too obvious.

I hated the camera work too.

I thought The 4th Kind was a lot better and it really makes you wonder and think about whats happening out there. That town Nome, Alaska has all these disaperances that they blame on the weather and alcohol, it sounds like bullshit to me.

Most chicks don't like that movie.

A lot of people don't seem to get the point of the movie too.

The whole Brawndo buying out the FCC and FDA thing was classic, which I'm surprised you didn't like.

That movie was a work of pure genius! Was it crude? Yeah.
Did it have fart jokes in it? Yeah.

The things most people hated about that movie were there for a reason.

Maybe I'll check it out, I don't know.

If you like scifi, watch The Man From Earth. It's certainly not a big explosion type of movie, but does have some really neat ideas in it.

It was made for about $200k or so and has become a bit of a cult classic. It was written by Jerome Bixby, who wrote one of the favorite Star Trek episodes ever, Mirror Mirror.

It's not a movie for everyone. Someone with ADD, like DrugS, I don't think would be able to handle a dialog based movie.

I will check it out, but 4th kind is really not sci fi... Its all true, its more of a documentary with actual footage of these things happening... Its really strange, I wish someone could comment on it, I guess they have to see it first lol

Oh. I thought it was supposed to be some sort of scifi/horror flick.

I'll check it out.
