Win (Ha!) with Wizard
 

Anyone else follow this Win with Wizard promotion TwinSpires did over the last 4 or 5 weekends. Not one winning weekend and I think his last weekend was the best where he ended up with around $8300 out of 10K original in the pool. Worst week he lost around 70% of the pool. Others were at around 50%. What was surprising to me is his selections and the way he bet. These were supposedly his best bests around the country on a Saturday and his wagers typically consisted of betting a very heavy favorite - some at 2/5 - up and down in exactas or keying them with about 25 combinations in pick 3s. He would hit races and lose money. Keying a 2/5 horse up and down in exacta bets with five horse and also betting them to win and place is a sure way to lose money at the track. Anyone else have any comments?

I don't know how anyone could ever purchase his products after watching what he did over the last month.

1 month does not a handicapping career make. with a name like the "wizard" and with this promo for all to see he surely had his neck out there. based on what you said though he shouldnt be banking on 2 to 5 shots. but it just goes to show you with any of these pay to play guys my experience is their BS is much better than their actual handicapping ie Gasper Moschera

I wasn't as surprised at the results as I agree one month of returns is not real significant, it was his type of wagers that were surprising. Here is a "professional" saying the best handicapping plays he can find on a Saturday are even money horses that he wants to wheel up and down. He did stick his neck out by agreeing to do this but I am surprised he wasn't trying to play horses at around 5-1 or so.

Michael Kipness is the Wizard. He has a good enough rep as touts go.

I followed the Wizard's selections one/two months ago when Bris had a free promotion for Saratoga or Belmont. I don't remember which. The Wizard didn't pick one winner except for the same 4/5 favorite as everyone else. I was surprised too ,at how poorly the Wizard did.

I think its a stupid promotion. Horse racing doesnt provide short term profits as most people would like. The wizard probably HAD to make bets he normaly wouldnt make in order to show profits in short term. The problem with such handicappers is that, in thier buisness, they need to pick winners more than show profit to sell products they are pushing.

What they should have done was have a handicapping challenge of 10 handicappers and the bettors would bet on who would win.
