Brandon Spikes

If you needed a reason to hate Florida even more. That was one of the dirtiest things I've ever seen, and that scumbag Urban Meyer suspends him for half a game. This guy should be done for the year, if not his career. Again, I hope these dirtbags get their skulls kicked in by Alabama. Normally I don't give a crap about college football, but how can anyone root for these dudes?

i saw the replay yesterday. i can't believe half a game is considered enough of a penalty. the sec takes a hard stance on coaches complaining about the refs. you can get suspended games and fined-but a player who attempts to gouge someone's eyes out isn't deserving of as much punishment??
yeah, way to go, urban. you're the man.

jwkniska 11-03-2009 09:57 AM

he'd have gotten fined 50k if he was in the nfl for it..... but FL will never sit a guy that could cost them winning down the road.

SEC said they were going to look into it yesterday afternoon. Have to see what they do, and hope it's alot more than what FL did.

Wasn't it Zook who suspended someone for a game against some joke school like South East Charleston Tech... and when the game was postponed he let the player play the following week?

timmgirvan 11-03-2009 04:10 PM

sounds familiar

I think the suspension is bs, but I take heart in knowing that when he gets on the bottom of a pile sometime soon he will get his. Times 20. At the bottom of a big pile where cameras can't see!

I'm sure he's got his a million times already, and so has everyone else who plays the game and gets in a scrub for the ball. Thats why the victim in this case doesnt think Spikes should get a suspension.

Not that i'm condoning what Spikes did.. I just would be willing to bet it happens often when the camera cant see..

Curiously, the player(victim) said he didn't think Spikes should be suspended cuz the was just playing football!
Apparently, Spikes lost his helmet on an earlier play and got hit with a helmet to his head.....so it looks like he got a tad emotional!

Not an excuse. This wasn't an immediate, impulsive reaction. It was calculated. Possibly the first thing Spikes has had to calculate in his life.

Just putting down what I read online......I would liked to have him suspended, as long as the rest of sports seems to be more PC these days!
