Limewire-itunes...
 

I have done this before, whenever I used to download songs on limewire most of them just went to my Itunes library... Now its not working... Any help on how to transfer everything from Limewire to Itunes.

Drag from the folder in limewire into your music folder on the computer....then and only then drag from the music folder on the computer to your itunes.

Man thats what I used to do... Now its not even an option... WTF

This limewire can f-kkc up a computer. I know two people who ruined their harddrives doing this. Just man up and pay for the songs via i tunes. Pretend you lost another $100 and buy some music you cheapskate.

Coach what is a torrent?

What I do is redirect the save folder and 'share' folder. I 'share' a folder that has ZERO in it, and then if I grab something, I just drag it into my ITunes.

Save folder
Set up new folder whereever you want
Tools/Options/Save Directory/Browse/
Find the folder

Share folder
Set up a new folder whereever you want
Tools/Options/Sharing/Add

Add that 2nd new folder as a dead folder

Limewire doesn't screw your computer up if you just don't download everything you see. You should only be downloading high # downloads, and you should always preview the file while it is downloading. If it works, you are ok, if it doesn't, cancel the download right away

Limewire is horrible. You guys really need to look into getting utorrent and a what.cd invite.

Coach, Im not getting this? What is a what.cd invite? and I downloaded the utorrent, but now what? and even then how do i get it to itunes?

what.cd is a website that has a private tracker for music.

just type what.cd invite in google and you should find a site that will lead you in the right direction

until then you can go to www.thepiratebay.org and search for music

Coach is right. Limewire is cancer. I have a program if you want that helps rid traces of Limewire, Kazaa, etc from your computer, if you want it.


Download Utorrent. Install it.

Download Peer Guardian, install it. This is not a necessary step, but I suggest you use it.

Go to the pirate bay like Coach said, or use btjunkie.org

find a torrent you like. The better the ratio of seeders to leachers the better, typically. also, if there, read some user reviews and ratings to help you decide if the torrent is good.

open the torrent and wait for the stuff to download.

What I suggest however, is the following.

I would subscribe to Napster, which is a monthly fee for unlimited music downloads service. You can literally download tens of thousands of songs. They will remain playable by you for as long as you keep your subscription active.

Before you cancel your subscription, there is a program you can use called Tunebite (or tunebyte, i don't recall at the moment) that will remove the DRM (copy protection) from those songs, so that when you kill your subscription, those songs will play just fine.

So, for maybe $50 or so for three months, you can download music legally to your hearts content, strip the protection, and voila! Much better than using Limewire, you won't be supporting Apple and the songs will play on all music players, something Apple doesn't like.

Last time I checked, you could get Napster songs as a 192kbps WMA file. They may do MP3 as well, but you'd have to check if you want to go that route. Then again, Tunebite will take care of that for you if you care.

To summarize, if you want music, your best option is the subscription service used with Tunebite.

Next best option are using torrents. You can find some really obscure music this way, but generally you are at the mercy of some potential idiot who doesn't know how to rip music properly.

Limewire is not an option.

Yep. Limewire sucks. And at $1 a song, even if you do it the easiest way through i tunes, is it really going to break your bank? Especially if you are routinely making big win bets on horses. Just be a normal guy and take some of that gambling money and spend it on music. Its good for your soul and passes the time on long runs.

Apple sucks.

They screw their customers, they sell overpriced products that underperform, they have all sorts of environmental rules/law infractions, and overall just, well, suck.

Good marketing goes a long way.

At least the first part anyways! After looking up hypem and pitchfork, the rest is probably right as well.

You can put the word "kick" in front of the youtube address (or go to www.kickyoutube.com) of most of the music videos your listening to, and get a download (mp3, mp4, etc.) I don't know if it messes with your computer (ask a geek.)
