Gayego

No love for this guy? I thought he ran well today and obviously has a big shot in the BC Sprint.

He ran well today, but has really no shot in the sprint.

Why? That was a nice performance and he was hardly urged.

Really not a groupie... I just think over that track there is no chance anyone beats him. He is special over that surface.

You're right, he's got Talkin to Mom Roo mastered.

I'm very interested to see what condition he's in at the 1/4 pole if Fatal Bullet is on his ass from the start.

There's potential there I agree, but from what I have read the field isn't going to be that large so maybe it will be a scenario where you either single Zensational or use the closers.

At the very least, he potentially will be going against the grain as closers, especially sprinting, have done real well at Oak Tree so far

Can he outrun the freak from Woodbine to the lead? I dont mean Fatal Bullet.

Cannon Shell 10-11-2009 08:56 PM

Forget it. Freak is banned

Talk is the Sprint is going to come up fuller than the main track Mile.

It's funny how all of the Godolphin bashing has kinda slowed down since the summer began.

I watched this race with Terry Spargo who call races and handicaps Dubai. He's a very good caller, adept at spotting horses that are moving well and even he thought Gayego was beaten turning for home. By mid-stretch he was changing his tune. This was a nice run and if Fatal Bullet takes it to Zensational early, the boys in blue might run over them all.

I have no idea what kind of figure today's race will get, but I thought his performance today was very impressive. Let's see how the field sorts out and how the track may be playing, but I have no intention of eating the chalk in this BC race. I'll pass it first.

Kodiak Kowboy will be an interesting call ...

His syn track form is terrible ... but he was trained by Steve Asmussen for those bad races. That makes him a very tough read for me... you almost have to draw a line through them and pretend they didn't happen.

Same thing with Pyro.

Has always had an awesome stride. Pretty mover. If Gomez is doing well on BC Day, then he's a play in the sprint.

He's now being trained by Asmussen again.

That rule was part of the tough new Canadian policies for flat and harness instituted last year.

If anyone wants to go with Fatal Bullet early on they will pay the price, that is if Fatal Bullet goes to the lead at all. I don't necessarily think he needs it but rather it is his natural speed that puts him there, Dasilva reportedly didn't even use the stick(I'll have to watch the replay again) on Friday and though his odds aren't going to be near last year's odds, he's better than Gayago or Zensational IMO.
