Love the Smart Strike.

Really looking forward to that one.

Congratulations indeed.

Also, good luck to you guys with Richwood Silver tomorrow. I think the pace should be to her liking and should work against the favored Block filly in there, who doesn't seem to be in great form anyway right now.
I have a feeling it might finally be Silver's turn to break through with a win at this AP meet.

I agree with your assessment of the race 100%. Just looked at it before I saw your comments.

She has had just about every mush possible so far, might as well add 'Online Handicapper Message Board' mush to the list :)

You are gelding the 2011 Kentucky Derby winner? Let me guess the colt goes for 500k if he didn't have to be gelded. You guys knew it in advance and thought enough of him not to worry about him as a stallion prospect? Why don't you just grab one of the nutz from the other colt stick it in the big guy and call it even?

Why geld in the first place? Is he unruly? Does the undescended testicle present some sort of problem??

Not necessarily gelding, just 'cutting' the other one out. He can roll with one AP Indy style. It is my understanding that only getting rid of one doesn't mean he was being gelding, but I am not sure how that works :)

Why was the Awesome Again so cheap?

As for a name for the Smart Strike ridgling, maybe "A. P. Indy like" or 'AP Indys other nut"

freddymo 09-19-2009 10:11 AM

Awesome Again is capable of any type including frogs and 'Zappers.. He doesn't know he was cheap so what's the difference.. They all have issues either they have them at the sale or they have them behind the gate after you invest 30 to 40 k to get them to the races. You just can't buy the prettiest spotless horse only a few guys get those.
