I left off Real Quiet by the way .... even though he stands for like 5K in PA .. he's had a few good ones.

Forestry has had like 1.5 awesome horses and a ton of busts ... but he gets mega negative points for siring The Green Monkey.

How about Indian Charlie?

That stallion is pretty good so I didn't include him....

but yeah, the poster with that name does suck.

El Corredor hasn't been a complete bust either I guess. Probably the 2nd best Baffert trained stallion

Has Silver Charm been sent to Korea? If so I have a feeling he could have be the surprise ingredient on Iron Chef Korea! Iron Chef Park made a wonderful saddle of horse, of coarse the sauce was runny.

Did Baffert also train Isitingood?

Yeah, but I believe he might have died before siring anything. I don't remember any horses by Isitingood.

It wasn't so long ago that Exploit and Forestry were supposed to be the hot new thing.

Silver Charm has a G1-place multiple G2 winner this year (Miss Isella), plus a fair number of SWs, including Preachinatthebar, Silver Highlight and Silver Impulse in Canada, etc., and a lot of mid level allowance/upper level claimers who earned a good bit of money, ie $100K+. But no 'headline horses' or big yearling sellers, so it was off to Japan for him. His mistake was being a top horse with an unfashionable pedigree, not a bad one (his sire was a G1 winner who had sired other G1 winners after all), and later maturing stock. And Silver Charm has sired winners in Japan already.

Vindication died after he had only one or two crops, as I recall. Isitingood died before he sired a foal (thank the racing gods; can you imagine the names his foals would be given?).

War Emblem sired something like 20% SWs in his first small crops so the Japanese have persevered with him and his more recent crops have been bigger. More good is expected from him.

Indian Charlie is a calbred son of In Excess out of a Leo Castelli mare. You don't get anymore unfashionable a pedigree than that, so besides him being an insanely great race horse, how do you account for his success? Especially considering the truly awful books of mares he has had sent to him?

All this really shows is how much Baffert accomplishes with horses with unfashionable pedigrees, most of whom go on to be "disappointing" sires.

There are lots of horses with unfashionable pedigrees who go on to become reasonably decent sires.

Officer was a brilliant 2 year old, he hasn't been a complete bust and is still a relatively young Stallion.

Actually, he got off to a real nice start in his first crop, then sorta dropped off the planet with subsequent crops.

Perhaps his first crop of runners that were sired after his first runners came around will be improved.
