The entry looks tough here in the Turf Monster, but the 10 & 11 look the part on the track.

and if B-Dawk was the jock on Denver, I'd agree.

I used him in my pick 3's. No real opinion on this race. I think I used 5 of them.

Sightseek 09-07-2009 04:35 PM

Gone Astray trounced them.

DrugS has been on this horse and told me that his next race would be big. Racing against slugs helps as you can see Shug wants no part of the mainstream colt events with him. He is a real Grade 3/2.5 type

Yep..I bet the winner if that is your question.

The Indomitable DrugS 09-08-2009 09:07 AM

104 Beyer for Gone Astray... and it could have been a little higher.

For those who thought the rail was bad in the Haskell ... Duke Of Mischief was on the rail every step of the way in the Haskell and was a soundly beaten 4th in the PA Derby ... albeit he was a step slow at the start and 4 wide both turns this time.

Gander 09-08-2009 09:11 AM

That was some performance. Those of us who liked and bet Gone Astray got screwed (pricewise) with the scratch of Soul Warrior who would have vied for favortism. I thought 9/2 was fair but not great on this horse. Had Soul Warrior been in, we were probably looking at 7/1 and my bet would have doubled. Oh well, cant complain about having a winner.

When was the last time Shug won a million dollar race that wasn't on Breeders Cup day?

I'm not Fred, I'm still no fan of the horse..

I am curious though when this happened last for McGaughey.. it has to be quite a while..

Closest would be Pine Island's Alabama I think.

The Indomitable DrugS 09-08-2009 05:01 PM

Pine Island's Alabama was only 600K ... same with Traditionally's Oaklawn Park Handicap win.

I would think probably Coronado's Quest win in the Haskell was the last one.
