Wireless near Saratoga's track?

I'm planning to drive up with some friends for the Woodward, but one of them is on call at her job this weekend and may need to get on her laptop and do work during the day- I found the Chamber of Commerce's list of wireless access spots, but I don't know Saratoga Springs, so I don't know where anything is. Can any of the Saratoga regulars tell me where the closest spots to the track are? (I'm assuming the track doesn't have wireless access anywhere as it wasn't listed)

Thanks in advance- I really appreciate it! My friend really wants to go, so I'm trying my best to make it possible for her.

I haven't seen the list, but The Common Grounds coffee shop on Broadway has it.

Oh yeah - that's what I meant! :)

Gander and Sightseek, thank you a million. Fingers crossed her bosses don't make her go in to the actual office to work and she can work at Starbucks if she needs to. No fun taking a road trip to Saratoga by oneself. (Tragically, my husband would rather stick needles in his eyes than spend a full day at the racetrack. Barbarian.)

I've picked up wireless at the track a couple of days but you definitely don't want to count on it.

Do you remember if it was an open signal or did it need a password?

Enjoy. Its going to be a great day. May be the biggest crowd we've seen since the day Evening Attire beat Funny Cide (2004?). That was also the same day Pleasantly Perfect won the Pacific Classic.

Be prepared for a lot of people/lines, etc and give yourself plenty of time to get places.

Gales and I will also be over there...hope to run into you!

There is one that requires a password and one that didn't. The one that doesn't require a password has only been up like two days out of the six or seven that I brought my Netbook up. So definitely don't count on it but it is worth checking for.

PM me and I'll send you my cell phone # and we can plan to meet up at some point? It would be great fun to see the DTers there. I was there for Lawyer Ron's Whitney (lovely time with Sightseek, GPK, et al) but I'm sure it'll be a madhouse compared to then. Certainly sounds like the town is putting on a show for RA. Sadly, there's no way I can make the JCGC this year, so I'm glad she's running in the Woodward. Because it's all about me, of course. ;)

Thanks- we'll definitely plan on the Starbucks for her, then. It's not even a mile and a half away, it looks like- I bet she may just decide to walk there.

Best spot I had on opening day was right next to the BBQ.

Perfect! Now all she and I have to hope for is that her bosses don't make her actually go to the office on Saturday. She works for a newsmagazine, so I'll just have to cross my fingers that nothing interesting happens between now and Labor Day.
