How hot can it be?
For them to continue to race? I remember a couple years back Saratoga closed one day because it was too hot. Today has to be as same as it was that day, which was also a weekday. I wonder if this was a consideration for today?
Anyone know the standard that they use to determine if racing can go on? |
It's only like 90 degrees.

I think on that day the heat index was like 109.

No racetrack could be hotter than Louisiana Downs.

It isn't remotely as hot as it was that week.

Its hotter than Hades down here. Its amazing what horses can endure, especially @ LAD where they run during the hottest part of the day.

good to see other complain about the heat. we do it everyday during July and August here in Phoenix. But yes its a dry heat.
|
The problem here is you get the heat, the sun plus a massive dose of humidity. So not only do you bake, but you stick as well... it's just all around miserable.
That said, while others are digging out of the snow, I'm teeing up a golf ball. |

i've been to phoenix in july and august-it may be a dry heat, but at that point, it's just too damned hot. |
It can never be too hot, only too cold!
