I was at the fight when Gatti made an amazing comeback to knockout Gabe Ruelez.

GR had killed a man in a prior fight - and was pummeling Gatti to the point of where it seemed like the only humane thing to do would have been to stop the fight.

I still have no idea how Frank Cap didn't stop the first Gatti Ward fight with 30 seconds left in round 9.

Amazing that a guy who could take all that punishment died from being strangled to death by a skinny Brazilian strippers purse strap.

I would really like to know how gatti committed suicide by strangling himself with a purse strap. The police in the US may have issues but thank god they arent like Brazil.

Wife has been released.

he was found "suspended and hanged."

had he been strangled only, i could see where the wife would be a suspect. but since no one else had been in or out of the apt that night, i really don't see how a woman could lift a guy and hang him.

a guy in jail a few weeks back hanged himself-from a sitting position. he didn't have a way to hang with the bars being too low to get him off the floor, so he just sat in a chair, affixed the rope, and leaned forward-he could have saved himself, but let himself strangle instead.

its just real suspicious because when it first happened the report was he was in his bed with a head injury and strangled and the purse was found with blood on it.. & NOW he's suspended and hanged.. and he was almost passed out drunk... just REALLY weird. Why arrest the girl in the first place if he was suspended and hanged? She was in jail from the time it happened until yesterday.. thats Brazil police for ya.

maybe she found him hanging and cut him down herself? really, i have no idea-but it sounded a bit funny from the get-go. besides, just getting arrested is certainly far from proving guilt-or that the cops got it right.

of course they said that. but in that country, it's up to the judge to really decide whether there's a case. it seems there that the cops round everyone up and then let the courts decide the merits of their investigation.
