Gary Gullo?
is he back now with his own horses??
haven't been able to enter him in the DRF watch list even under partial match I know he retired , then he helped out for a somebody who was suspended, and he also dealing with jockeys for a while. I don't remember him being extraordinary. I'd like to play against him in Wednesday's starter allowance, but on paper at least, he moved a horse back up a little off the claim(albeit good trip vs. week). He has had a solid little meet thus far... 23-6-6-4 |
so today he runs well again with a relatively tough trip, albeit a weaker rival who rushed up, but substantialy better than 2 Postino or IL Postino or whatever.
I don't know that it was necessarily a better 2 race sequence than what he got under Asmussen/Moss, but it may well have been. you see the horse change hands from Asmussen and decline so readily you really don't think that this type of horse is a candidate for a move back up when he goes to Gullo(who is having a decent little meet here at belmont). Is Gullo a "potent" trainer, or is this just a fortunate claim from a horse that Moss just wanted a win from and probably shouldn't have been let go so cheaply? I know that when i start topics here, they tend to set the board afire, just lots and lots of nice insight from those who live and breath the subtleties of the NYRA circuit, and I don't mean to take away from Borel's decisions, or Rachel/Zenyatta/polyraceflow [/sarcasm] |
