Gee they really allow the deck to be stacked against you in these online contests for entry in the NHC.
Below are the results of this past weekends qualifier which top 30 qualifies for this weekends final
were 6 will qualify for the NHC... Notice the 4 entries from Tronto all end up with the exact same totals.
Digging into the details you find that they all picked exactly the same horses. Foolish you may think, why would they
do this and not spread. Well this past week was a qualifier and "they" qualified 4 times for the money round. Next
week you can rest assured the spread will be on. NHCQuailfy response was they are looking into it... I don't envy their position. Will be interesting to see if they do anything to close this gapping hole.

Their response
"The entries were bought with different credit cards and different accounts.
Technically speaking, it’s impossible to legislate against this vs. similar scenarios
(e.g., how do you differentiate that between a husband/wife or a father/son team, who often do this exact same thing?).
The transparency allows us to identify issues like this and address them personally with those involved.
If we believe that there is unacceptable collusion, then I can take then necessary action moving
forward (i.e., I have the right to ban any individuals for any reason).

You have to remember that you are dealing with tournament wagering, and therefore there is always going to be some
level of partnership involved. We have to approach each situation individually and investigate the facts, and their impact,
before jumping to any conclusions. Please rest assured that this is happening."

I saw that in the result, but I couldn't wrap my mind around calling that cheating. I've never seen a person with multiple entries pick the exact same horses in every race.

The only way I see this as cheating is if they somehow past posted the winner in the last to get all four of them to jump up into the Top 30.

This strategy will get around the 2 entries per person rule. Using this strategy and picking correctly will get you 4 entries into the money round.. You can bet your last dollar that those 4 will NOT have the same picks next round... Cheating, no but exploiting a hole in the system for sure.

I agree it gets you around the 2 entries per person rule, but why did they pick every horse the same? They hit one early and then basically nothing until the last. They had to be outside the Top 30 going into that last race. They were about to go down in flames together which makes no sense to me.

Did you research the rest of the results to see if each of those four had a second entry (which would give them 8 total)?

FYI: the group of players are well known amongst those of us in Toronto that play in the NHC tourney(s)....while I'm not a fan of what they did, I cannot see how it is against the rules...

Agree. Exploiting the hole that is there. I remember Byk raging about some of the shenanigans that occur in these contests last year on ATR... He was pretty fired up...
