slots in Ny

i have re-thought my slots idea in ny

i think it would be better served with the slots at belmont than the big a

you probably could get 50% more machines in at belmont than than the big a

and then since belmont runs during the spring and the fall , we could have night racing, maybe sat night under the lights

yonkers is successful , i hope nyra can get it done to , it would help all involved

It would be awesome if they had the Belmont Stakes under the lights

Belmont is fine just the way it is. Aqueduct seems to be the perfect place for a casino and restauraunt/hotel (if that's what their even planning). Not to mention that they might be able to attract some extra buisnees from some of the layover crowd from JFK across the street. They could probably set up some sort of shuttle and people will be able to kill a few hours at the Big A instead of sitting at a terminal.
I love the night racing idea, but I just don't think it's in the cards. This might sound crazy, but I think that Belmont is just big to try to light and it would cost NYRA an absolute fortune.

The reason Belmont cant have lights is the restaurants and businesses in Manhattan and nearby Long Island communities would suffer from all the people going out to Belmont at night rather than going out to eat and to the bars and ice cream/cupcake shops.

Saratoga cant have lights either, for the same reason, which I neglected to mention the other day. What Saratoga needs are some bartenders under the age of 70. If they're going to charge $8 for a Heineken draft, they should really have some young college girls serving them. Not a grumpy 75 year old guy.

I was kidding about Belmont. That is a valid reason for Saratoga though because we only have abvout 40K people that live here, many of which depend on the vitality of downtown. It kind of stinks though, racing at night would be so cool. They do it at that dump across the street but going there is like getting ice cream at a gas station. I dont know what the deal is with Saratoga and the older bartenders. Everywhere else I go bartenders are young and full of energy. The ones here, not only at the track, but at many downtown establishments, are in their 70's and even 80's.

timmy you are married now , where else do you go on a regular basis besides 'toga?, it's not like you are out travelling the country - the place you took me too in Saratoga did not have 70 or 80 yr olds working behind the bar

So what? I am looking out for my single friends. Its embarassing bringing company to a bar and the track getting served drinks by grumpy old men.
I dont travel much for work but in the last 5 years I have been to Hawaii, California, Las Vegas, Atlanta, Florida, NYC, Long Island and Boston and dont recall getting served by bartenders anywhere close to that age! It must be an upstate thing!

That place I brought you had the owner behind the bar (as he always is) because he is cheap and greedy. Wants all the tips to come his way. Wont pony up the cash to hire college co-eds.

my guess is that those cities have more young people looking to work in the bar business than sartoga

saratoga seems to have the nate's and redheads of the world , you know the guys and gals that live in the brand new condo's and drive the range rovers and audi's around town , they are in the bars , just not working in them:D :D
