I can't believe I am already remembering the good old days when the Californian was on dirt and I actually cared.

I also remembered when this race was carded with 5 horse fields and no betting value

You mean back in the old days when they could find enough horses to race 5 or 6 days a week? Yeah, I miss those too.

Actually I am glad they cut the number of days. People who look forward to 5-6 days of racing are the degenerate bettors and the weekday racing just feed those kind.
