Hull.

Regal Ransom is an interesting entrant in the Woody Stephens. That is a pretty loaded field.

Apparently, Darley just purchased Everyday Heroes. After the way he bore out in the Maryland race, I wonder how longer he'll hold up.

www.belmontstakes.com
has a little bit of info, but is pretty weak.

dunkirk's workout video is like if I took the video with a regular camcorder for the last 100 yards only.

no Miner's escape Tesio replay...

the highlight (literally not saracastic) of video info is charitable man's 5/25 workout 47.88 with a running time of 36 seconds!

treating the race and the website as a bit of an afterthought. At least that is my 1st impression.

looking around more , I do notice a good article by Serling.
"Contrarian that I am, I now plan to bet against Mine That Bird with the utmost confidence, that I can guarantee. "

Forever Together looks like a single. Many will also single Justwhistledixie.

Many of the horses running in the G1 Manhattan would have been much lower odds if they chose to run instead in the G1 Charlie Whittingham (which only has a 6 horse field) at Hollywood on Saturday.

Pretty good card.
Lots of familiar names.

Mike 06-03-2009 08:36 PM

Flying Private, the closest direct link to Mr Prospector or Deputy Minister. The offspring of these sires' have a nice success ratio in this race

Flying Private to win;)

KirisClown 06-03-2009 09:13 PM

Just looked at the entire card.. NYRA has put together an excellent day of racing... should be a lot of fun...

I appreciate your helpful criticisms, and will pass them along, but I have to take great exception to your final sentence. If you think we consider the race, or the website, as anything close to an " afterthought " you are badly mistaken. While the website may not be perfect, and surely we can and will do a better job next year, I think anyone that goes to the site can see that a lot of effort has gone into it and there is plenty of information available.

Luv Gov has DM top and Mr.P bottom 3 generations back.Only DM in the race.

Personally I wouldn't mind seeing the Man O War line represented by Mr. Hot Stuff. Prospector has 7 of the contenders and Northern Dancer 2.

The Manhattan is really interesting, the best turf betting race thus far this year.

The website as a whole isn't actually that bad, and your article is a highlight.
That was simply my initial impression after seeing the video section which was disappointing.
Miner's Escape in the Tesio is up on bloodhorse for those curious about the Zito pace entry.
Dunkirk and others have some photos up on horsephotos.com

wasn't actually meant as a real shot at you or nyra, just a grumpy first impression of the video section
