Couldn't have said it better myself.

Can't believe I will be in Louisville this weekend and won't be able to go to the track to see this matchup. Man, I'm really starting to get  ...........

Ill be In Lvl myself, instead of KY Downs.
Dont feel bad, the wife just let me know we are going on a weekend trip June 13-14 (Stephen Foster Day).

I know the feeling. I had to rearrange my work schedule to get this weekend off (bro-in-law's wedding reception), and in turn now have to work THAT weekend.

I got screwed on both ends......

Would take Cash Refund here easy.

Should win for fun. VERY tempting.

JDank34 05-15-2009 08:11 AM

I would slow down.....there is a huge difference between a very consistent, proven Grande 2 and 3 horse and running a couple fast numbers against maidens ands 1 other than horses.

Capt. Candyman will handle it here.

NTamm1215 05-15-2009 08:15 AM

Cash Refund certainly has a huge pace advantage but I'd also not really concede this race to him. Capt. Candyman Can brings his A game every time sprinting and I think his Bay Shore figure is too low. He also had his Hutcheson adjusted, so it's not like he's some ridiculous slowpoke.

The Bay Shore was a merry-go-round but he looked very professional in the stretch and I think his graded stakes background will make the difference.

I wish....The weekend trip is to the Smokey Mountains and take the little one to Dollywood. Instead of $5 drafts I get to buy $5 Cokes.

Personally rooting for Margolis, but even if I weren't, I'd take Cash Refund in a romp. If I can get 8-5 on him (unlikely), guns blazing.

Exactly. And my early guess is that on paper, sure there are some ways to make a case for the Capt. beating him, but I think that after the running is done tomorrow, having tried to do so will seem foolish in retrospect.

There is no doubt he will win a stake race this year if he can remain healthy. But I have to go with the proven commodity today, especially because I think Cash Return might be the favorite come post time.

Did Hull not teach you guys anything?

You can only beat who shows up.

I understand that but it is worth noting what was behind him, in his ultra impressive romp. I'm not discrediting that performance, but trying to put it in perspective. It won't surprise me at all if Cash return wins again, and is just as impressive. But, I have to figure they are going to be similar odds and I prefer a horse that has beaten quality horses, over a horse that hasn't.

lol, I know.

But it was also apparently worth listening to those talking about who Hull had beaten before he won the Derby Trial...and those horses were arguably one or two claiming levels worse than the ones Cash Refund trashed. This is basically the exact same conversation I had a few weeks ago.

You know me though, I wouldn't have picked against Hull or Cash Refund in either of the two spots no matter who had shown up because they've been my favorite, exciting horses since their debuts (as I'll pull a John White and remind anyone anytime it's even a little relevant).

Neither has done anything wrong yet, and until one of them does, I see no reason to think they'll lose, and Cash Refund would pwn Hull. I'll reassess when one of them proves me wrong.

And if you keep calling him Cash Return and saying he won't win, does that mean you get to be right when a horse called Cash Return doesn't win today? :D

Wow, Taqarub and Yano just ran huge.........
