now this just makes me sick
Lane Kiffin should be smacked over the head with a newspaper for this decision.
http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=4148579 First off, I dont understand how someone makes a mistake and rapes a 14 year old girl. Second, by the quotes in this story its like... oh well look how great this young man turned out after he helped rape his cousin! makes me want to purge my lunch. I would be very embarrassed to be a VOLS fan today and I would be very embarrassed to have that scumbag Lane Kiffin as the head coach of a major program. I'm all about kids getting second chances, unless they are rapists or murderers. If that sounds harsh I dont care!!! I hope the Vols never win a game while that kid plays there and I would not be happy to be the mother of a young girl attending Tenn. though I realize their are bad apples at every school, this is just sick. |
I don't think it should be overlooked that the victim in the case wrote a letter in support of him. We don't know what the situation was in that house.

I'm not going to post it but you can look up State of Tennessee vs. Daniel Allyn Hood and read about the situation. Its sick... Would you want a guy like this on your favorite team? Would you want him to be your teammate if you were playing? Would you want your daughter to live in the same dorm as him? |
I think the 17 year old is the real problem here. What the 13 year old was involved in was awful but I'm sure it was an incident that never would have occurred if the 17 year old wasn't there.

i agree that the 17year old was probably a little more at fault, but they both planned it, the both carried it out, and they both laughed the whole time and acted like nothing happened afterwards. The thing is also its was Hood's FIRST cousin... someone I'm sure he grew up with. Hoods a huge guy and in the report it said he was a very big 13 year old. I would have killed someone before letting them do that to my family member, let alone helped him and enjoyed it. Edit: and its not just about the situation and the kid serving his time (how bad could the sentence be if he was allowed to play football at a major high school, win a championship and be named Mr. Football for the state). Its also about Lane Kiffin signing this guy to be a member of a major college football team. How proud could you be about this if you were a student, alum, or fan. It just disgusts me. If I was an AD and my head football coach even really considered signing this guy I'd fire his ass. |
