Kenny Mayne

I miss Kenny Mayne... I'll never forget "Een-Va-Sooor, he iz de best!" I really wish I could get that as my ring-tone...

I have to watch Grape Nuts commercials now to see him...

Surprisingly, he offers good advice

Travis Stone 04-25-2009 11:35 AM

I know a lot of people didn't like him on the air, but I thought he was hilarious.

I laughed hysterically when he said to the Ky. gov. how they had the second tallest waterfall and asked what his administration was doing to get to #1. Hilarious!

I loved it when he was in the booth with moss. He is a good match mocking Goldberg. Truth be known he is probably a better capper.

tjfla 04-25-2009 11:58 AM

Better capper than Hank

But I miss ENVASZOR!!! I loved his first 2 races and getting 8-1 and 5-1 on him

Those were the days

cowgirlintexas 04-25-2009 12:02 PM

He was great.. Added a little "zing" to the show... Always got a chuckle or two...

Coach Pants 04-25-2009 12:32 PM

He seems good because the others are so bad. He's a bad imitation of Bill Murray.

Merlinsky 04-25-2009 02:19 PM

So they definitely have "killed" Kenny? I was just in denial, hoping he'd be back. The #1 waterfall bit was classic. If any of you are Sports Night fans from back in the day, Kenny makes me feel like the show's still on the air just from saying all the crazy stuff he does. (The 10th Anniversary dvd set of SN is out!) Exactly who does Hank have naked pictures of? The guy supplying the Grey Goose?

He's a ton better than Tessatore, especially when with Moss, Bailey and Hank!

eajinabi 04-25-2009 02:39 PM

Hank has been on a mini roll of late. Getting the Arkansas Derby Exacta (no biggie) but he did bet Advice to win.

BUT tessatore likes racing and wants to be there. that's better than some other people they could use and just go because it's a "big event". i do miss KM too.

i'll take a bad bill murray.

outside of moss, carrot top would be an improvement.

Hickory Hill Hoff 04-25-2009 05:28 PM

ESPN still covers racing?

lol yea, a bad Bill Murray is kind of funny if you think about it

Sightseek 04-25-2009 08:16 PM

I thought his funniest moment was the segment on horse breeding. :D

Thunder Gulch 04-25-2009 08:17 PM

Kenny had a really dry sense of humor that some didn't care for, but I loved it. He was a better handicapper than Hank most days, and was ten times more entertaining to boot.

wac 04-25-2009 08:28 PM

i'll chime in and agree that i thought he was great. i enjoyed a lot of his dry humor myself and think that it is missed a lot on the telecasts

sumitas 04-25-2009 09:44 PM

i remember his line about the 3 stages of male pattern baldness referring to himself Bailey and Moss :D

Why so shocked? It's not like they have spelling bees or can play poker 24/7. Someone's gotta fill the rest of the time. We can't overburden little league baseball or women's lacrosse more than we already have, plus they have to spend some time training or having an off-season. It's either horse racing or another Sham Wow infomercial. We do have one thing going for us that the Sham Wow guy doesn't, nobody in our sport is currently in the news for biting the tongue of a hooker--we win.

I know I'm in the minority here, but Kenny wasn't my cup of tea. I like the broadcast better without the one liners.
