Man, it seems like Solis will never get in. At this point it seems Rudy Rodriguez will get in before Solis.

Congrats to all, but most happy for Maple. Long overdue in my opinion.

Solis is a nice person, but he really doesn't belong in the Hall of Fame. Now if you had a Hall of Shame we could put him in for his post selection and ride on Brother Derik in the Derby.

I think if he won just one Kentucky Derby he would have been in by now. He has won a few BC races, bunch of other Grade I's. I think if Eddie D, McCarron, Kent D (He is in already right ?),Pincay, and Stevens are in, he probably should be in as well.

The only ones from that crew who aren't in are Solis and Pat V. Pval, while deserving on accomlishments, will never get in because he is such a fu#k up off of the track. Now I am not saying Solis is as accomplished as that above group......but he has ridden very comeptitively in what was probably the toughest jock colony to compete against at that time.

It doesnt really make sense to me that Mike Smith is in, and Solis isn't.

Sky Beauty gets brushed aside again...

Silverbulletday was better.

KirisClown 04-20-2009 02:10 PM

I think we had this conversation already...

The Indomitable DrugS 04-20-2009 02:14 PM

I'm not sure I've ever seen a filly better than Silverbulletday from as a 2-year-old through the summer of her 3-year-old season.

Excellent Meeting was beaten just 2 lengths in the Kentucky Derby.

Its not even close in career accomplishments between Solis and Smith when it comes to winning big races, and Mike is younger. I would imagine Mike has won 50 more grade 1 races then Solis, and done it all over the country as well.

I knew I could draw you into this conversation.

Excellent Meeting gave her a good beating once as a 2yr old..

But Smith loses all credibility for being on Jockeys and showing the world his relationship with Sutherland. The HOF should kick him out based on that horrible show.

They were kept seperate at age 3. Silverbulletday won 2 out of 3 meetings at age 2.

Silverbulletday won 14 of 16 races through the summer of her 3yo season - including 13 Graded Stakes wins at 8 different racetracks.

She won graded stakes ranging from 5.5 furlongs to a 10 furlong win in the Alabama with a 115 Beyer.

The other of her two early defeats came in the Belmont Stakes .. where she was on the lead for the first 1 1/4 miles in what was a fast paced race. She basically tried badly in the final quarter but ran a very strong race for 10fs.

That was like her only bad race... but she got hooked up head-to-head in a speed duel with a longshot outside of her through wicked fractions.

Not many fillies who have 21 and change speed and can win races at 5.5fs by double digit lengths can see out 10 furlongs as effective as she could.
