The Well Bred Thread!!

With plenty of maidens around, there are so many well bred horses making debuts around Britain, Ireland and elsewhere. Anyway, anyone up for helping keep track of them, either before or after the race?

Might as well start
Barynya
3-y-o (09Feb06 ch f)
Pivotal (7.6f) — Russian Rhythm (USA) (Kingmambo (USA) (9.8f))

You'll struggle to find a better bred than this one. 3rd on her debut in a 7f maiden at Newbury today, showed a little promise.. Russian Rhythm's first foal!

Great idea for a thread.

And yeah, that's pretty sensational breeding. Hope she does well.

This is right up my street. More than happy to contribute to this thread.

Got one tomorrow, running in the 2yo maiden at Pontefract.

Grand Zafeen
2yo filly, Zafeen - Majestic Desert

brockguy 04-19-2009 02:36 PM

yeah just spotted her, I then had to go back over Majestic Desert's career. I was sure she won a G1, but she didn't. She was beaten by Attraction so many times though..

She certainly was. If it wasn't for that freak (Attraction really was a freak) she would have been a Gr1 winner, which she deserved to be in my opinion.

She won on her first start at two, and this filly could well do the same.

A half-sister to G1-winner Fully Fledged, called Fledgling (2 f Captain Rio - Fledged), makes her debut at Matamata tomorrow.

She came 5th. A bit disappointing, but the track was very wet (and her big brother never liked it wet), so I won't give up on her yet.

I was very impressed by him. There was also another well bred debutant in that race:
Eytarna (IRE)
3-y-o (01Jan06 ch f)
Dubai Destination (USA) (9.6f) — Ebaziya (IRE) (Darshaan (11.7f))

A half sister to Ascot Gold Cup winner Enzeli, Irish Oaks and Prix Royal Oak winner Ebadiyla and Moyglare Stakes winner Edabiya.

NoChanceToDance 05-26-2009 01:39 PM

Another couple today, in the same race (first at Leicester), both in training with Meehan. The eventual winner, out of the brilliant Queens Logic (not quite sure why Channon didn't train) and he also had a half sister to Kingsgate Native in the race.

brockguy 06-10-2009 03:11 PM

Lovingonyourmind (USA)
2-y-o (01Jan07 b/br f)
