Its nice to see a group of horses who's names you can recognize... But they are still a bunch of average horses!!

I like that its a Grade 3 though, and not a Grade 1 (can easily see this group in a Grade 1 race)... I think all major races this year for older horses should be moved down to Grade 3's...

I know when i saw the list of the horses i was kinda excited b/c like the above poster said these are some horses that i can remember seeing race before. Should at least be a good betting race b/c aren't they all about the same talent level?

This is a great race. You get the last two Blue Grass winners facing off with the defending champ of the race. Add to the mix last year's Lane's End winner and Grasshopper who still always takes money off his Travers loss two years ago. All of the above will take action. Any could win. I like Parading who should be overlooked to take it all.

Parading destroyed them.

Nice job Paul,

That was a skull buster and could have gone many ways.....until the race started. Hope you invested heavily.

It's hard to believe they turned down all those offers for stud deals and kept him in training.

The turkish offers topped the list.

A couple of ex Phipps won jump races this weekend.. It seems that when they cant get a minor stallion deals somewhere they aren't cast into other barns and or claimers.. I see On Fire was sold to Abrams and other then Dancing Forever and Hunting I just dont recall too many in Shug's barn at 6..

Remember Leading the Parade and even the mighty Manipulator are standing somewhere..

Maybe the guy who Pags sold his stock to was broke?

Its interesting that Polytrack (and synthetics) in general have given the Phipps bloodlines at least a modest revival in the last couple of years.

There hasn't been this much reason for the Phipps fanclub to come out of the woodworks for a while now.

Kudos to McGaughey for not being too stubborn to put his horses on the turf/synthetics.

Of course, the alternative would have been claiming races...
