NBA playoff idea:
 

They use it in the D-league.
I think it would make for great entertainment:

The 3 best records in each conf. get to pick
their 1st round opponent. Obviously the 4th
team would by elimination, have their opponent
picked for them.

Imagine the Lakers having to choose who they play
first... So maybe they pick the Spurs, say if Duncan
was injured and not ready for the 1st series. It sets
up all kinds of neat situations and bad blood.

"wtf... they chose us. They disrespect us..."

All the fans of each team arguing about who to play first round.
I think it would be great fun.
And good for the NBA.

The coaches would probably hate it, but it would really
put them front and center.

Heard about this today. Would make for some good trash talking comedy. Doubt it happens though.
