Fact Check DOH!

Wednesday morning on the CBS Early Show, Vice President Joe Biden asked, "But what I don't understand from Governor Jindal is what would he do? In Louisiana, there's 400 people a day losing their jobs. What's he doing?"

"In December, Louisiana was the only state in the nation besides the District of Columbia, according to the national press release, that added employment over the month," said Patty Granier with the Louisiana Workforce Commission.

"The state gained 3,700 jobs for the seasonally adjusted employment," Granier said of the most recent figures.

They could have just said there is no season , yeah? At this point a seasonal job prolly looks better than none at all.

When you can define "Seasonally Adjusted"..let me know.

They are losing jobs like every other state...

All I'm saying is it's easy to use statistics to make a point...whether you're Biden or Jindal

Using your graph (actually Bureau of Labor's graph) Louisiana has more jobs now than ever before minus 2005. Couple that with how many have left the State following Katrina (which we all know now was Bush's fault) and I believe the little Indian is much closer to the truth than Joe Biden.

I'm sure you read "How to lie with Statistics" in your school years at some point. LA unemployment rate is now the highest it's been since Dec '05. Come on...Sure..Biden is using numbers to make his point, but they are not a "lie"..they are numbers that make his point. You can spin pretty much any number or stat to make a point, as I said before. But it's not a "lie" as the right so frantically wants to say.

I never said it was a lie only the Gov was closer to the truth than Biden. Did the left ever figure out what the meaning of 'is' is yet?

I used to do the unemployment statistics. They are completely separate from the current employment statistics. So it is quite common for a state to be both gaining employment in the CES and unemployment in the same month.

The unemployment statistics are also based on place of residence while the CES is based on place of employment which can further muddle the picture.
