Has Penn shut it down for the night? Twin Spires is insisting that the 9th race went off at 7:31 and that it's all over. Obviously that's not the case. Cancelled?

Rudeboyelvis 02-12-2009 07:04 PM

no results @ DRF... I'm betting canceled

Looks like Charlestown and Penn canceled. If you are looking for action there's still Delta and Retama running now.

Ah, high winds. Christ.

How is a guy who works from 9-5 able to enjoy horse racing the way he'd like? You've got Mountaineer, Penn, Emerald Downs, and a few other dog tracks to choose from. All the major racing is done between noon and four p.m. And horse racing is not something you would want to TiVo. The windows are all closed! The fun of handicapping is mooted. It seems like the only way I'm going to be able to give the industry the amount of money that I'm willing to give it is if I become unemployed, retire, or get a job as a bartender or night watchman.

Someone has got to explain this to me. Even the Chicago Cubs (remember when day baseball was a time honored tradition at Wrigley?) realized that prime time was the right time.

Retama $1 pick 3 races 2-4
2,7/2,5,7,10/6,10
$16

Maybe I can make it through 1 leg down there.

And the streak continues!

Fine. Charles Town and Retama it is.

Sadly, I would suggest Meadowlands probably has the best regular night racing going. That feels dirty to even say.
