Spurs v. Celtics

Still think the Celtics are better.
They play better defense than we do.
The Spurs biggest asset this year is
that Duncan and Ginobili hate to lose.

But... Garnett.

WTF is he doing falling away on wide open 15-18'
jump shots? His shots are short. I dont care if he scored
well today, this is just a serious flaw. Its not like he is being
covered and he is falling away on his jumper. He did
this against the Lakers also. Most of the time I have
seen him on the tube this year earlier he has not done this.
Although most of his shots I have seen are 10 ft and in.

On the 3 he hit covered at the end of the game
he did not fall away.
Its Nuts.

Watch him more often. It's not a flaw, he just prefers to shoot fadeaways, and he's one of the best in the game at them. He's been doing it since he was in Minnesota. I'm also not sure what you're talking about, he doesn't do it on open jumpers.

He certainly did today.
And it is a harder shot.
Jump stop, straight up and it goes.

He missed at least 3 of these today.
Wide open. Watch again.

You watch again. I've been watching dude for 13 years. You notice something in the 14th year of his career and you think you've found a flaw no one else has seen.

There are plenty of players that play in the NBA
that do something poorly. You think Garnett has a pefect jump shot?
I am merely saying there
is no reason to fall away from a shot in which one is wide open.
Especially if you are 7 feet tall.

Drifting one way or another while shooting a jump shot just
makes the shot more difficult. Lots of guys do it while covered,
or while moving forward (tear drop), but those are difficult shots.
This is what I am saying. And guys get in slumps because of bad habits.
I am not a shooting coach for pro players. But they have shooting
coaches for this very reason.

No reason to make an easy shot difficult.
I think this is obvious.

Man Joey.
Pulling the old guy crap, you have been watching 13 years...

His fade away jumper is so good that he took a huge paycut to get a ring.

"b-b-but Malone and Payton!"

They weren't even close to the level of player Garnett and Allen are.

Yeah that was weak but doesn't equal what happened in Boston.

Cannon Shell 02-08-2009 03:11 PM

Garnett has an excellent shot peegarden. He uses the backboard as well as anyone outside of Duncan. The only thing he sometimes does is not get enough arc. But he has spent most of his career being guarded by bigger guys. This aint CYO.

What guys taller than Garnett guard him?
You mean heavier guys?
And I said nothing about bank shots.

He has an excellent jump shot but does not
get enough arc... Wonderful. This aint the CYO
Cannon.

Seriously. One game does not make a habit.
But are you telling me guys
who consistently fall away on wide open
jump shots are good shooters? (not saying
Garnett does this consistently). Because I cant
say.

And dont resort to baby stuff by calling me peegardn.
You know it hurts me deeply.

I'm only messin with ya cause Morty is mia. But garnett has always used the fadeaway like joey said because he needed to create space and has always been at a huge weight disadvantage versus most post players. In the NBA only results matter.

he does sometimes shoot line drives

With just Shaq and not through some gay ass trade where they end up with two all stars because all three of them failed individually.

FAILED. Over and over. Garnett constantly getting smacked on his own. They weren't even on the f.ucking radar in Minnesota.

The results of this shot was
3 points

As soon as he gets thrown off some Ohio State Sports board.

LOL, "just Shaq." Just the second or third most dominant player in NBA history in his prime.

God, you are an angry individual. It's OK. You weren't on the court. 131-92 is on your gutless team, not you.

Yeah lets forget that Garnett had the highest contract in the history of the NBA at the time.

And lets forget that Kobe led the Lakers to the finals last year without Shaq. He didn't take a pay cut to win a championship like Garnett and Allen. Two overrated douchebags with no pride.

True.
They let Shaun Marion shoot what might be the worst
looking shot in the modern day NBA.

I dont like the way Ray Allen does his lips.
What the hell is with that smirky look...

131-92, and KG and Ray are the ones with no pride? LOL.
